It’s difficult to be single as an adult. From infidelity, to ppl not knowing what they want in life, red flags being green flags, avoidants, etc. Everyone says love yourself, and definitely I know I do! I love, I forgive, and continue to meet new people and grow. But what about lack of affection and closeness, as well as lonely nights and weekends? I’m a single F 33 talking about the harsh realities of navigating adulthood on your own. Deep down, I believe there should be some sense of collaboration or having a likeminded closest buddy to go through life with, but there isn’t. As I get older, it feels increasingly strange and disconnected, no matter how “comfortable being alone” or independent I am.
Yes, I enjoy the freedom and independence, and I am not complaining or codependent, but, I wouldn’t mind having a companion to go through this with. At the very least, arrange traveling with someone and making memories together, large or small. I wouldn’t mind sending love and support to someone who wants the same thing. Friends have their own lives so we can’t always find time to hang, and watching them get married one by one and have kids I just want to move on with my life.
It just feels so relaxing to have that support, unity, and friendship. That dependability and security of “hey, we’re in this together.” Most days, no one asks me how my day has gone. I have no one to say good morning or good night to. I realize no one owes me anything, but these things would be incredibly lovely to have in life. Life is hard enough. But I am still keeping it together. I just wanted to say dating in the past decade has been shitty and praying it gets better in the future🫶 as I continue to level up with my small business I hope to meet my future partner someday❤️ thank you for reading my deep thought out message🫶
