“Rayon is the best interior design tool we’ve come across. It’s changed the way we work as a global team.”

From concept to completion, uses as its all-in-one, A–Z workflow.

“Rayon helps us streamline our drafting process and deliver sleeker client presentations — and it’s so much faster having all hands on deck in one live model, no matter where each team member is across the globe.”

It’s been two years since our house had its big moment in IKEA’s Life at Home Report. Feels like just yesterday that I was nervously opening our doors for the day to a film crew—the hidden hidey holes, the not-so-hidden hoarder spaces, and the pretty finished floors that we all usually see. When clients freak out about inviting me over, I wish they knew how I lived. Eeesh.

We were one of just eight homes featured globally, which is both an honor and a reminder that, yes, for some reason, our ongoing renovation chaos has its attractions. IKEA wanted to see how real people live, and so we gave it to them: a mix of vintage treasures, leftover design materials, and the occasional “this will look great once it’s finished” moments. So much of the latter!

What I loved most was sharing the idea that a home doesn’t have to be perfect—it just needs to be filled with items that embody who YOU are. Not me, the designer; not some store’s idea, but the resident. IKEA’s Life at Home Report explores how people around the world find joy in their spaces, and for us, that’s always been about experimenting, evolving, and welcoming a bit of chaos.

We have a pottery sale going on in Brooklyn! If you are in the city and are looking for that perfect bespoke pottery gift for someone, dm me and I’ll send details. All items made by someone of the 818 household. Stop by Friday night or Saturday afternoon to pick out something! Priced for friends.
London is like New York, only affordable with thoughtful architecture, clean streets and a working subway. So totally not like it at all. Other than doing my best imitation of Winnie the Pooh by carb loading at high tea, I’m getting adventurous inspiration for client projects back home. Nearly all projects, from classic brownstones to contemporary minimal apartments, are influenced by European models. So, traditional UK tile patterns, fresh British color schemes and bold fabric choices will be a little more present in my work the next few months. I’m gonna be the king of crown moldings! If you’re in London (or Paris) these next few weeks, let’s meet for tea.

recognized us again as one of the “53 Best Airbnb Stays Across the United States,” and it is still as exciting as ever. Our Brooklyn brownstone parlor floor, with its soaring 13-foot ceilings that bring me joy, has made the list for the third year in a row!

Honestly, it still feels like a bit of a dream. After two decades of “work in progress” on this brownstone, at least a quarter of it is gorgeous since the other three floors remain unmentionable —I’ll take it.

But beyond the recognition, the best part has been hosting incredible guests from around the world. Some of them have even become friends—a truly awesome side bonus.

The Airbnb has also ended up being an ever-evolving design experiment. I get to be my own client, mixing vintage finds, contemporary pieces, and references to Hawaii. I get to work on a space that doesn’t tell the client’s story, but mine. Funnily, this actually helps me think about our clients and what they would like when I work on their projects. Win-win for everyone! (Photography: )

People think interior design is all about picking pretty things and pressing “go.” I wish it were that easy. After hours of client interviews (sometimes 7 pages long), we work closely with our trusted vendors—some of whom I’ve known for 15+ years—to ensure what we envision is not just beautiful, but realistic and cost-conscious too.

Not every corner needs to make a statement. Not everything has to be obvious. Sometimes, it’s about subtlety—especially when our client wanted a space that felt serene and calm.

This Brooklyn reading nook layers a custom Italian chair by our favorite, designed by the incomparable. Her work, which beautifully embraces femininity and her Spanish heritage, brings a diverse visual palette that stands the test of time.

We paired it with pendant lights from Mexico City—a perfect blend of craftsmanship and comfort, designed for slow, reflective moments.

And speaking of personal touches, when we learned our client was Romanian—just like Brancusi—we knew we had to include a nod to his work. Drawing inspiration from his iconic totems, we deconstructed the form, adding facets for a modern twist. The result? A perfect little drink table for your iced tea while you flip through your latest biography on the Real Housewives.

I still cannot get over how morning starts in Brooklyn but I’ll be at Kaimana Beach to catch sunset. The new Hawaiian Airlines flight landed so early I could have been there for lunch! Home for graduation, wedding, memorial and friends. And some work. This is the first stop of my first express around the world tour (thinking of China, Thailand, France next but not sure).
So excited to be featured by the in the Sunday edition! My decade-long transformation of an abandoned derelict Brooklyn townhouse wreck into a Hawaiian Japanese New York mixup got its moment in the spotlight. My art collection finally feels at home too! Please check out the article in the link in bio and let me know what you think! 😀

Thanks to the amazing for choosing me and for the painless photoshoot.
