Na een zaterdag die intens verdrietig maar toch mooi was, hadden we vandaag ruimte nodig.
Ruimte om te voelen, om stil te zijn, om gewoon te lopen. Het Duno-plateau in Doorwerth gaf precies dat.
Hier, op deze historische plek, ooit aangelegd als onderdeel van een 19e-eeuws landschapspark door baron Van Brakell, voel je nog steeds die bedoeling: vertragen, kijken, ademen.
We stonden even stil bij de rand van het plateau, uitkijkend over de Rijn.
Die rivier die altijd doorgaat. Onverstoorbaar. Misschien zit daar iets troostends in.
Tussen de restanten van oude paden met prachtig bloeiende struiken lieten we onze gedachten komen en gaan.
Geen antwoorden, geen moeten. Alleen samen zijn, met alles wat er is.
Soms is dat genoegā¦š¤
Sunday; time to take a breathā¦
After a Saturday that was intensely sad yet beautiful, we needed space today.
Space to feel, to be still, to simply walk. The Duno Plateau in Doorwerth provided exactly that.
Here, at this historic spot, once laid out as part of a 19th-century landscape park by Baron Van Brakell, you can still feel that intention: to slow down, to look, to breathe.
We paused for a moment at the edge of the plateau, looking out over the Rhine.
That river that always keeps going. Unperturbed. Perhaps there is something comforting in that.
Amidst the remnants of old paths with beautifully blooming shrubs, we let our thoughts come and go. No answers, no obligations. Just being together, with everything that is.
Sometimes that is enoughā¦š¤
Had voor het eerst weer een jurk aan en blote benenā¦had ik overigens al snel spijt van gezien de snijdende wind.
Over de Afsluitdijk naar Enkhuizen, waar wat jeugdherinneringen van mijn man liggen.
Na wat sightseeing en een lekkere lunch door naar Bataviastad.
Tevergeefs zoekend naar een nieuwe trenchcoat omdat ik twee weken geleden mijn oude geliefde trench ben kwijt geraaktā¦vraag me niet hoe š³š³
Uiteindelijk wel terug naar huis met een leuke aanvulling op mijn 237 andere tassenšš

Yesterday the sun was shining early, so time for a day out!
I wore a dress and bare legs for the first time againā¦ though I soon regretted it given the biting wind.
Across the Afsluitdijk to Enkhuizen, where some of my husbandās childhood memories lie.
After some sightseeing and a nice lunch, on to Bataviastad.
Searching in vain for a new trench coat because I lost my beloved old trench two weeks agoā¦ donāt ask me how š³š³
Eventually, I did make it back home with a nice addition to my 237 other bagsšš

Nu ben ik niet zoān boho tiepje šš dus ik kies mijn eigen stijl hierin.
Dit jasje voelt licht en verfijnd, maar maakt tegelijk elke look net wat interessanter. Ik draag ām hier casual, maar je kunt ām net zo goed over een feestelijke outfit gooien of meenemen op vakantie als het ās avonds wat afkoelt. Dat maakt ām voor mij echt zoān fijn allround itemā¦
Deze fotoās zijn gemaakt bij Villa Sonsbeek; een plek waar alles klopt. Het pand heeft iets statigs maar tegelijk ook iets zachts door de ligging midden in het groen. Ooit gebouwd als buitenverblijf en nog steeds die rustige, bijna dromerige sfeer.

These photos were taken at Villa Sonsbeek; a place where everything just feels right. The building has a stately air, yet also a soft quality thanks to its location surrounded by greenery. Originally built as a country retreat, it still retains that peaceful, almost dreamy atmosphere.

Achter de schermen druk geweest met van alles en nog wat.
Vandaag eindelijk weer even tijd genomen om in de tuin wat fotoās te maken.
En yesā¦ een nieuw item: een blazer met korte mouwen. Echt zoān stuk waar je eindeloos mee kunt combineren; precies waar ik van hou.
En verrassing (of eigenlijk niet š): gewoon weer in mijn vertrouwde basic kleuren.
