🥹 when your dear friend of 15 years, who also happens to be one of your favourite artist/photographers... makes you a ridiculously fun birthday video, you smile. When the same friend turns you into you actually squeal with delight.

Todd, thank you for the greatest gift of all, your friendship. Thanks for being my hiking/ adventure/ art/ creative/ photoshoot bestie. Thanks for all the walking tours of historic Hollywood, the educational tours of the galleries, the eating tours along Melrose and Sunset. You have such a special place in my heart.

You were one of the first friends I made in LA and probably the first person who ever made me feel confident about being a creative oddball with a very active imagination. You are a really good person Todd. 🥹

Extra thanks for all the laughs. Especially the Runyon laughs... and the gossip sessions 😆... most of all 🥹thanks for bringing Charlie to life. He's even brattier than I imagined!

You made my birthday even happier. 🎂 See you soon!

🤖I'm going to be proper and tag #AI because I know someone of you will suspect that AI brought Charlie to life. In reality, many years ago Todd and I found a jar of fairy dust tucked under the roots of a tree... I think it's the dust... 🧚🏼‍♀️
Since Christmas is only 12 months away, I figured I'd share some stocking stuffer tips from my recent segment. As you can tell, we have a lot of fun on set.

For me happiness is working with amazing and fun people. 🥹I love you to bits! It's always a treat to work with you and I'm so happy we've become such good friends.

A little story about work:

In 2023, I started to implement changes on how I work, what I do and who I work with. I became more intentional and strategic. Making changes isn't easy, and it can mean a change in income. Luckily for me, I'm a hustler and picked up a front desk job (thank you )& I became beyond frugal.

I'd been prepping for this change since 2019. I expanded my education, I'm a bit of a degree collector. I revisited all my mentors notes, researched societal behaviors, made predictions and so on. When it was time to make the change, it was scary. Mainly because I'm human and people talk. Not just behind your back, but to your face "you're a failure"... "her floundering career"... I read that a few times on Reddit 😂... a president of a PR firm, after hearing of my gym job, said "what happened, you've used to be so good in meetings."... this was moments after she told me she works with questionable influencers cause it's "just easier than pitching". Rather than being offended, I gathered intel. 🧐

Then I decided "fuck it" why be ashamed, my confidence returned and my plan went into action. Now it's working. Really well. Most importantly, I'm happy doing what I do and who I work with. I feel secure. I'm allowed to be creative & I still get to have a little fun online, on TV & in print. Interestingly, my personal media reach this year, with minimal effort is 10x higher than ever.

Sadly, I had to leave my job at Lift in May 2025. It was too much to juggle with regular travel to NYC (filming a docu-series) and LA (client work and TV). The silver lining? I still train with and the quads are jacked.

For anyone going through a major life change from work to a relationship ending. It gets better. I promise. You aren't less. Don't let anyone make you feel small. 🥰
I don't fear those attempting to limit the roles society affords to women. I fear for them.

Like the Marquise de Merteuil, in Dangerous Liaisons, there remain many women that are "their own creation".

To live a life like this, one must be highly intelligent, incredibly chic, educated, playful and calculating. Very calculating. Move over Bobby Fischer.

On the flip side, those looking to take power away from women, from controlling their bodies, pushing baby-making machine narratives or telling us to stay home... well these people aren't highly intelligent. Manipulative yes, hypocritical (very much so, especially when a woman 👱🏼‍♀️ makes a living telling other women to stay home), loud (obviously, we see the pyrotechnics from miles away)... that said, these people who preach women as property are weak. They appeal to weak, simple, or lazy minds.

I believe an army of simple minds is nothing compared to a highly intelligent, cunning, calculating, rebellious, vengeful lady who knows how to play the game.

Perhaps the most fascinating part is the daring pleasure a woman like Marquise de Merteuil will take from participating in the sport of life. Win or die.

It is sport. Death simply an outcome. How bold.

If you haven't watched or read Dangerous Liaisons, I highly recommend it. Marquise de Merteuil reminds me of Tyson at his peak, the mental mind games are delicious.
Happy New Year from all the ladies at the "Pig & Whistle" pub circa 1983.

*this series, originally called "Shame in the Suburbs" has been renamed "The Ladies of the Pig & Whistle" and is affectionate know as the Pig. 🐷

Callout: We are in the development stage of "The Pig" We need your suggestions for characters, costumes, sets and plot lines.

Premise: "The Pig" is a soap opera set in Burlington Ontario in 1983. *Due to wardrobe limitations we have moved the era from 1987 to 1983. By shaving off four years, we've made the women more vulnerable and desperate.

Thanks for everyone's participation in my stories. Please see my highlight with the 🐷 for the back stories.

You can also tune into my previous reel. Thank you all for all of the suggestions in our previous post.

-Sharlene was created by
-Barbara has joined a devil worshiping cult thanks to a new friend I made at a dinner party this week. *she grew up in Burlington and had gone to the real Pig & Whistle
-the new era direction was inspired by artist and vintage expert
-a plot twist for boring Vicky is on its way thanks to
-set concepts are being formed we have the chair on order

Truthfully there are too many wonderful suggestions to list. Please keep them coming.

Request: Cindi 💕needs her character developed... she looks a little whorish in her pantless outfit. But, I'm thinking, maybe she is sweet and a serial killer after her... thoughts? Or maybe being pantless is a bold statement about women's empowerment? Or is she just a sl*t?

I'm joking about empowerment, remember this is 1983. Other than Katya (she's loaded $ and a psychopath) these women have little power. They trusted men, their modeling agents and now here they are... working at the Pig & Whsitle, trying to get by, look good and sleep with "potential".

Request questions:
-who is the sl*ttiest?
-which two ladies have a cat fight, and who is it over?
-does Barbara get thrown out of her swingers circle because she's divorced?
-who set the fire that burns half of Vicky's face?
It's 1987, we are in Burlington, Ontario, Canada.... Welcome to "Shame in the Suburbs" a new series that we, yes you, are writing (for fun).

Or should we call it "The Pig"?

For those who are wondering what this is... I sometimes pick my outfits based on made up characters. I posted a naming request for the character of "Darlene" on my stories. I LOVED all the responses and information about Burlington Ontario in 1987.

Thank you to everyone who participated on naming Darlene. I liked your suggested of "Sharlene with an "S" because it's more sophistication than with a "C"... but I felt, Darlene wasn't quite worthy of Sharlene. Sharlene will arrive soon. 🥃🚬💃🏻She may be Darlene's younger, hotter sister!!

Now friends, I need help developing these characters. Please share characteristics, ideas for their apartment decor and story line suggestions below.

❓Do we make all three women be roommates? Or just two of them? Does Willie knock Darlene up? What is going on with Barbara and the mayor? Does Darlene encourage Vicky to try coke just to "to shed a few lbs"...?! Does Vicky fall for Mr. Hancock, a married science teacher at Nelson high school, who drinks too much...? What happens when Barbara is caught shoplifting from "Georgie Girl" the high end lingerie shop in Village Square? Will Vicky discover her "CrazyLees" skirt doesn't have pockets before her divorce is finalized? Is the local stalker a Pig & Whistle regular?

Please write your comments and suggestions below. If you aren't familiar with Burlington, you can just make stuff up or channel North Olmsted Ohio.

Fun fact: in the 1980's Burlington was known for its vibrant swingers culture and a high number of religious cults. Feel free to incorporate.

Finally, if you are being judgey or saying, Janette is weird. Please DM me and I will write your character into the storyline 😈... this is Burlington afterall. I will probably make you lose your home in Millcroft and give you an STD! #soapopera

Stunning, human hair wig by
Can I ask for your help? What outfit do you like most? It's for a holiday party.

I shopped my closet for the "looks", some items are newish and some are 15 years old. I love getting a good "cost per wear" out of my clothing. I'm not into hauls or single wear style. I think that entire movement is out of control.

I'm into something that is rarely ever talked about, and that's being on a budget. My holiday party treat will be getting my nails done. I do my own makeup and hair.... as do most people. I even do my own hair and makeup when I'm on TV.

Ok back to budgets... for Christmas this year I'm mainly shopping vintage or giving hand-crafted gifts. And everything looks very chic! Last year let me do a segment on "how to gift like a rich person". I even had a insider gift idea from (King Charles), his gift idea came in under $20, and is lovely.... of course it was lovely, he is lovely. Such a gentleman. I'll find the segment and post it in my stories.

I hope you enjoyed reading my random ramble and thank you for the advice on my outfit. I hope you have an extra fun weekend.

xoxo
Janette
This isn't a post about single women vs. married women. While I've chosen to live life as an independent it doesn't mean that don't have love (or a lover)... it doesn't mean I'm lonely. It also doesn't mean I that I don't have respect, empathy or compassion for married women, especially moms... If you watch any of my TV segments moms are almost always top of mind.

Why you may ask? Well many of my friends are moms, I have a mom. I grew up watching my mother carry the weight of our family. It looked like really hard work. My mom always made everything special for everyone, especially around the holidays... from handmade advent calendars, to cookie making, to hosting multiple Christmas dinners, to doing all the shopping, wrapping and organizing.. just the thought of it makes me tired. Don't get me wrong I love all that stuff, but it's a lot.

This year more than ever moms are being pushed even harder. I can't even wrap my head around my own grocery budget let alone think about juggling a families.

I know that moms have a huge layer of happiness this audio doesn't touch on including kids, kids can be kinda awesome. I'm lucky, many of my mom friends share some of their kids moments with me I get to feel a little of that joy.

Something that's not joyful are the statistics shared in this audio, they break my heart. As a woman I'm worried for the pressures we are putting on moms. I don't think social media is helping.

But guess what? Sharing joy can be a two way street. As a single gal I like to share my single lifestyle joy with my mom friends especially in December.

If you are a single gal, check in on your mom friends this month. I offer to help with gift wrapping (in my very quiet, calm space), I invite my mom friends over to bake cookies.... I'll plop them on the sofa, give them a glass of wine and I'll handle most of the work. ❤️ Mostly I just listen, judgment free. The way they do for me.

We may have different lifestyles but we really aren't that different. If anyone is feeling overwhelmed and just needs a little break, you're always welcome to come over.

And cheers to all the moms busting their butts to make the holidays special. 🥹❤️
Thelma & Louise.... huge thanks to for the amazing training earlier this month! I had the BEST time & learned a ton! Your support of women in motor sports is beyond awesome. Yesterday was one for the books. Thank you to T (Tamara) for the amazing afternoon of boxing and intro to and his super awesome team. Talk about a champion with a team of champions. All these guys are so beyond talented, humble, fun... Terence’s coach even took time to work with me and help me with my balance and footwork... then we chatted about design and renovations ❤️☺️ It makes my heart smile when human beings take the time for people out of the goodness of their heart. Yesterday was a a day full of that. #pinchme Terence’s next fight is April 20th at Madison Square Gardens and will be on 2 pay per view 🥊 thank you for the photos! #teamcrawford #CrawfordKhan
