It‘s a tough decision but there‘s no other option for me… I have to call the quits for Døds to protect my brain. After a severe brain injury in 2023, several brain concussions and lasting problems ever since I have to start protecting my brain as much as possible.
Although Deathdiving wasn’t the reason for most concussions nor the severe injury, it‘s the most risky sport for heavy, anticipated head hits and the easiest way to damage my brain more and more.
I started Deathdiving when it was a tiny sport in Germany. Until now I believed it‘s only a little hobby next to Parkour but editing this compilation of my best Døds I‘m realizing that this sport was way more than just a little hobby for myself.
In 2022, when I recovered from my hip injury and couldn’t train Parkour as hard as I wanted to, Dødsing gave me the needed fun and adrenaline I wasn’t able to get from Parkour. So I started focusing heavily on Døds and even set a German record with a 23m Døds (crazy that the current record is more than double that height lol). Plenty of Classics and Freestyles were to follow until October 2024, when I finally achieved one of my biggest goals in life - jumping a 30m cliff. Not only did I jump it, I dødsed it. Unfortunately the water hit me hard and I suffered a brain concussion. Winter arrived, I stopped deathdiving for a while and collected way too many concussions since then. And now here we are: at the end of my Deathdiving career. Thanks for all the inspiration and support over the years! Keep on pushing it everyone - I’m so excited to see where this sport will be going in the future! ❤️🌊
