2016
I was still working full time at my corporate job with a 2hour one-way driving commute.
I used the time in my car to soak up and learn everything I could about the FIRE (Financial Independence Retire Early) movement via podcasts and started applying what I learned to our finances.
At the time, we had a 2year old and were looking forward to baby #2. I was in my CrossFit era and working out up until the gave birth.
I started the IG in Feb 2016 and finally decided to start Journey To Launch as a blog while on maternity leave (I didnโt start the podcast until 2017) to document my journey and to also help others who wanted to join me.
I was able to quit my corporate job in 2018 (after giving birth to our 3rd) and have been living a life a freedom beyond what I could have ever imagined since then.

I got this message from a Turkish Journeyer saying my book was now available in Turkey!
I knew the foreign subrights had been sold in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Turkish, but I hadnโt received an update on whether those editions had been released in their respective countries. So receiving this message was a pleasant surprise.
Also, peep how the Turkish cover is different from the US version. I think itโs interesting to see how other countries market the book differently.

Dear Launch Diary,
Went into the city today to get a haircut and stopped by to see if my book โYour Journey To Financial Freedomโ was there, since it had been spotted at yesterday.
The official release date is December 5th, so I was surprised to hear it was already at a Barnes & Noble.
When I first walked in, I didnโt see it the New Releases area, so I asked an employee, Sarah, if they could check. The books were upstairs in the non-fiction section but Sarah had some brought down for me to sign and display in the New Releases section. She even took video and photos of me capturing this very special moment ๐๐พ.

While taking pics with the book, I spotted who asked me about it and when I told her what it was about, she said she was going to buy it. After a while, I saw an older gentlemen pick it up (he didnโt know I was the author) so I introduced myself and told him it was my book and he also said heโd buy it ๐ฅน.
