Another year older. Supposedly wiser. Yesterday was big in quiet ways. Grateful for every hug, call, and message. Thank you for the love. I felt it more than I’ll probably admit.
This is me doing my best smile:)
New dawn. New depth. New frontiers. Same dreams.

Woke up earlier than usual today. And instead of getting to work, I started doom scrolling on apps. Never have I felt so hooked to scrolling before. Took my mind to places I never thought it was capable of reaching. So I kept my phone aside for a bit. Thought to myself about where we are today. Made me really sad, but I also realized that this isn’t going away anytime soon.
.
Stay strong. Reach out. Don’t shy away from asking for help. There are good people here too. People who care, people who will go out of their way to help. Don’t give up.

Please note. I am just ranting. I am fine. This is for your introspection.
Life has a wonderful way of steering you towards the things and paths that are best for you. My wonderfully nomadic and colossally talented friend asked us to hop on to one of her many adventures and I am so glad I said YES. What followed is an INSANE week at created by Baltistan native and curated by his partner in crime. They have built and are continuing to build a space that offers you the opportunity of a getaway steeped in local culture. You can embrace all they have to offer or you can plug out, cut away from the noise without cutting back on comfort. We tapped into Virsa’s commitment to culture and comfort. And became the first recipients of the creative residency programme they are slowly laying a foundation for. We were happy guinea pigs to new chefs, their tasting and testing menus and very reluctant signees to the new yoga and pilates programme:) Our days were peppered with trips to local eateries,
cafés and villages. We did a fair amount of reading, writing, drinking up copious amounts of coffee (both Avani and Jai are superb baristas) and my favourite, long discussions through the day and night.

We came away with indelible memories. Discovered synergies and leapt ahead on the path of a deeper friendship.
But most importantly, we came away Inspired to dive right back into all the different things the four of us are embarking on separately and together 🤍🫶🏽
Exactly a year ago today, I brought home a little soul named Willow. She didn’t just become my dog, she became my home. In her eyes, I found calm. In her paws, I found purpose. In her presence, I found peace. She taught me patience, presence, and how to love without language. Every wag of her tail stitched something in me I didn’t know was broken.
Here’s to 365 days of muddy paws, quiet cuddles, and a love so pure it could make the world kinder. Happy gotcha day, my Willow. You didn’t just change my life, you saved it.

Last night, #Shahid was screened by the awesome peeps at. More than a decade since its release, and it still resonates just as powerfully. This film was a turning point for so many of us. One of my earliest experiences as an assistant director, it shaped me in ways I didn’t even realize back then. More importantly, it cemented my relationship with my father. I had the privilege of working with him on a film that not only marked his comeback but redefined his voice as a filmmaker. A voice that has only grown stronger over the years, making him the reigning king of the kind of films he creates; Stories that don’t just belong to cinema but have the power to shift perspectives and shape conversations in a nation.

Looking back at everything we’ve built together since then, I couldn’t be prouder. Of him, of our journey, of the stories we’ve told. And of this film, which continues to find its audience, years later. Grateful to everyone who showed up and to those who continue to champion stories like these. Stories that matter.

Where do I start with this walking enigma? Vivek Gomber isn’t just a person; he’s an experience, wrapped in brutal honesty, sprinkled with humility, and served with a side of unstoppable dedication and Castle light;) Casting him as Vikrant Gandhi? Destiny couldn’t have written it better.

His energy isn’t just infectious—it’s viral! By the end of our six months in Cape Town, he had everyone tossing “Baba...” around like it was going out of style. The guy’s a live wire in front of the camera and a sheer pleasure to watch on playback. Dragging him through this project wasn’t just an honor; it was a riot!

It wasn’t a cakewalk for Vivek, though. We’re talking a three-year marathon of waiting, the kind that gnaws at your soul. All he’s say if you asked him how he’s doing was, “Holding baba…” And boy did he hold! What you see on screen is raw resilience, that fierce Vivek spark.

He’s a rare gem, a one-in-a-million pal, and I can’t imagine this journey without his constant, “I’m here baba. I love you baba. You do you baba.” To Vivek, the heart and soul of this adventure. To the man who’ll break into a dance step in the middle of nowhere. To the man who pretends like there’s music playing in the atmosphere, here’s to you, Baba!
.
Some of these stills are from the look tests we did with Vivek back in 2021! The rest from the shoot and random chillings at the hotel in Cape Town.
