Film has this way of making a Wedding Day look exactly like it felt. A little warmer. A little softer. It’s the grain, the light, the way it slows everything down just slightly.
Celyna + Spencer’s Royal Palms wedding was the kind of day that was made for film. Her “something blue” on the terrace. Champagne before slipping into the dress. An espresso martini named after their cat. The details that made it theirs, film caught all of it.

I'd shot Celyna and Spencer in this exact spot during their engagement session, so I knew what the space could do.
When we were transitioning to our next location on their Wedding Day, I had them walk in front of the arches instead of the other direction. I ran around to the inside of the arch, Allison held her position on the opposite side, and we just let them walk.
One pass. Two completely different images.
That's the thing about Wedding Days, some of my favorite photos come from the in-between moments. The transitions. The thirty seconds nobody put on the timeline.
And knowing your couple before you ever get there doesn't hurt either!

Quick reflexes. My hand-eye coordination finally developed. Superhuman strength (10 grocery bags and a baby in my arms all in one trip). Emotions I didn’t know I had. And a deep appreciation for slow evenings, Sunday morning snuggles, and sticky fingers.
I admire my own mama even more now. She’s a super woman. I draw strength and wisdom from her. And I only hope to look half as incredible as her in 20 years. I forgive her for always being mistaken as the third sister.
It’s also changed how I work.
Showing up and taking photos isn’t what this is anymore. It’s preserving the most precious moments of someone’s life, because now I understand just how fleeting these most special moments are.

Dana and Hunter flew in from Dallas, and their people came from everywhere. And somehow, Arizona delivered exactly what a destination wedding should feel like…unhurried, beautiful, and completely worth the trip!
A floral arch that made people stop mid-sentence. A cocktail hour under palm trees at golden hour. Cannolis and espresso martinis on the dance floor. A recessional I will never get tired of photographing!
