Honestly, just two days ago I nearly backed out when I was told there would be steps along the route. I knew this was probably going to be the most technical race of the year, and those steps almost had me saying “oh well, I’ll just run alone” 🤣
But truthfully, that’s exactly why I didn’t back out. I’m always racing and always chasing my next PB — and I knew this would never be a PB. A part of me hated that… which is precisely why I’m doing this challenge. To prove to myself that I’m capable of stepping outside my comfort zone 🙏🏻
And how amazing that I get to bring my kids along for this journey! Jamal took the first race, and Layla will be joining me for the next one 🏃🏼♀️🤍
The hardest half marathon is done… so hopefully they’ll only get easier from here 😅

I can’t tell you how much I needed that! Shaved nearly 3 minutes off my 10k from 2 weeks ago 🏃🏼♀️ and the feeling of getting back to running is something that I’ll always be grateful for 🙏🏻

I’ve been very open in the past about my struggles with mental health and things that have helped me get through some of my toughest times.
Running being one of the biggest things! There’s something about running that sets you free, that gives you purpose, that teaches you to respect your body rather than hate it, that shows you even after your hardest runs there will be beautiful runs 🏃🏼♀️
I’ve said before that running is a metaphor for life. The more I run, the more I learn. The more I struggle, the stronger I come back.
Life is going to give you a lot of pain but on the other side you will experience unimaginable beauty…you just have to keep going 🏃🏼♀️
