When you finally start to pierce the illusion that other people’s opinions must be feared in order to ensure your survival, some will desperately try to claw you back into a sphere where they can still manipulate you.
In so doing, they may sell you smoke about what it will mean if you release the worry of others’ opinions.
You won’t be a Christian anymore (lolooooollllll 😂😂😂)
You won’t be safe (in fact, you will find you are safer than ever)
No one will want you (in reality, so many people are starved for authenticity, you will find yourself FLOODED with amazing new friends and opportunities)
But here’s my favorite part: when you truly drop any attachment to the opinions of others, it is NOT the fake fierceness that people put on as a mask over their anger and hurt to make themselves look tough.
You have truly let it go. It’s gone. Which means, now you have space! You’re not holding on to a bitter energy - you’re FREE!
And in that space, what I find, is that there’s so much more room for sincere love for other humans. You see them clearly. You don’t judge them. You hold them with compassion, even when they can’t do that for you.
You can look them in the eyes and accept them exactly where they’re at, because you don’t require anything from them. 🙏🏼
For many people, when they experience you in this degree of truth, freedom, and compassionate love, they don’t know how to respond because they’ve been so trained in the opinion-management-dance.💃🏻
