We spent those first 3 months post-Olympics starting our next journey together; we built Polaris Fencing Center from the ground up, and finally opened our doors in December 2024. Yet, with the exception of a few dedicated fencers, our facility remained quiet — the perils of building a membership base almost entirely from scratch, and a reflection of the uncertain place we were both in at the time.
One year later, that void has been filled with the excitement of a flourishing community at Polaris Fencing Center. We are invigorated by the possibilities that exist in our newest young fencers, and are motivated by our more experienced fencers hungry to achieve their future goals. We have relived emotions that felt like distant memories — the thrill of a fencer’s first competitive victory and the humility in responding to a fencer’s first winless competition.
In just 1 year, we feel so blessed to embark on this journey with so many new fencers and their families. It is an experience that has been so rewarding, and we are grateful to everyone who has helped us build this new community. Here’s to continued growth in 2026!🥂

It was so uplifting to be around passionate fencers of all ages who deeply love the sport and were willing to work hard and get uncomfortable in the pursuit of improving. It was collaborative, exhausting but most of all, a really fun four days in winter wonderland. Apart from the near collision with a child and being the only 30 year-old on the bunny slopes, I managed to stay on my skis and not fall my first time skiing (thank you fencing thighs)🎿 Colorado always holds a special place in my heart, and this time was no exception 🤍
We’ve always dreamed of having our own space to run a foil program that draws on both of our individual experiences in the sport and is inspired by the various fencing clubs and coaches we’ve worked with. We can’t wait to use those experiences to build a community driven by passionate fencers who want to grow both in and out of the sport.
It’s been a labor of love, but is officially open, and we can’t wait to share it with everyone who has supported us thus far 🫶🏻
