Cycling carried me through four amazing years, and letting go of that part of myself felt like losing solid ground. But somewhere in this past year, between all the reflecting (and maybe a little avoiding), I realized it’s okay for chapters to change — even the ones that shaped you the most. Now, being in medical school, my days look different — less racing, more studying, and the occasional pickleball match where I try not to get too competitive (still working on that).
As I retire from the world of structured sport and move into this next chapter, everything feels a bit different — in a good way. I’m proud of myself for the massive decisions I’ve made in the past 12 months and the journey so far. Appreciate my family, NZ man, and all my friends back home for all the support (and for putting up with how unavailable I’ve been the past 6 months during med school) 🙌🏼🤍 and a special MASSIVE THANK YOU to for giving me this amazing opportunity 💙
