Jacob is a talented hand-weaver and textile artist who trained at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art before setting up his studio in South East London.
His work is inspired by the ancient ikat technique, in which patterns are created by binding and dyeing the warp yarns before weaving. He uses a rich palette of colours drawn from nature, blending traditional ikat craftsmanship with a contemporary twist.
QEST funding will support training in the Japanese kasuri technique at the Kawashima Textile School, allowing him to create more intricate design and collaborate with galleries, hotels, and interior designers.
