When you’re spending good money on a winter coat or jumper, you want it to keep you warm! And there is nothing more disheartening or green washing in my opinion than being lead to believe something is made out of wool or natural materials 🐏… but instead it’s just polyester 😭
I think of my the best things you can do to be slower and more sustainable is to look at choosing natural materials! Just remember that fossil fuel based materials can last in landfill for thousands of years 😅

Unlike “normal” fabric dye, Indigo which originally comes from plants (there are now synthetic alternatives) doesn’t chemically bond to cotton fibres, it simply sits on the surface! The lack of chemical bond is what essentially makes it break down so much quicker and “wash away.” PLUS it is not stable under UV light meaning in any exposure to sun, it also breaks downs causing fading ☀️

1. changing habits takes time: it can be take years to change habits! Even after 5 years of trying to shop sustainably, I still slip up impulse buy and make bad decisions!
2. Stop comparing your wardrobe: do you ever get caught in what people have how people dress? It’s such a trap and something I’m still trying to learn but nothing good comes from comparing yourself to others 💛
3. We will always be inspired by trends: Unintentionally, we will always think about trends, but is all about how we stop them and if we need to shop them at all!

I had THE BEST time and actually met Dad who was also a volunteering! HOW CRAZY (he runs the lovely )✨
I spent the day with collecting Christmas trees that are being turned into wood chip for local parks and green spaces which is such a lovely way to give back to the community while stopping trees from going to landfill! (YES, 8 million trees are wasted every year in the UK!🤯)

From the finale sending us straight back to Hawkins in the 80s, to Predicts for 2026, some of the biggest trends this year come from a place of nostalgia and escapism and with that comes a very interesting thing I have noticed…
Ultimately, things that are nostalgic to us already exist and I just HOPE that this trend of nostalgia and escapism will lead us to look more at what we already own or buy things second hand 💝

Sometimes I think sustainable and ethical fashion is a trend, yet the fashion industry is slowly changing for the better (I mean, Shein just got fined by Italy and France YAY), and it is these positive changes that we should be celebrating!✨

Have you ever bought something on impulse to end up wearing it a lot?! I always find charity shops the hardest place to say no to things, the bargains sometimes GET ME😭
We all make impulse purchases sometimes that we don’t end up wearing, but I think the most susty thing to do is to try and incorporate that item as well as you can into your wardrobe and almost force yourself to wear it! You might be surprised and find that the item does actually become something you wear more often than you realise 💖
Ps, building sustainable and ethical habits TAKES TIME so be kind to yourself!🌼

this dresser I think might be my best second hand furniture find, it was in such good condition considering it’s age and just is a work of art🥹 I paid £350 for this (plus the courier cost) and I think if I got this from a vintage furniture seller I would have paid over £1k?!
I will always say that second hand and vintage furniture is so much better than most of the fast homeware you get these days, and with trend cycles in homeware too, we are just producing way too much unsustainably and I will always say that second hand is the way to go💗 (and it is cheaper!!)
