I literally booked it just a few days via (they have some great winter sales), packed a couple of outfits in a carry-on, my diary, face mask, a book and just switched off.
Walked the beaches, watched sunsets, breathed in the fresh air and soaked up some much-needed winter sun.
Sometimes a little solo reset is all it takes: a change of scenery, a walk, a moment to yourself to breathe, reflect, and start the year the way you actually want to. 🧡

I chose a hard massage but honestly it was a mix of lymphatic, deep tissue, Thai and Swedish!! There are softer options if you want something more relaxing.
My body felt incredible afterward, I slept for hours, and my skin has never felt smoother!
The women were absolutely lovely, the facilities clean, and the price really reasonable. Zero privacy in the sense that the women would sometimes pop in and chat, but it just added to the authentic, lived-in feel, and it’s all women so it felt comfortable.
If you’re in Taghazout, definitely check this hammam out. Strong massage, affordable, authentic, and run by some of the sweetest women I’ve met. Plus you’re supporting a local business.

The temperature has definitely dropped and I already know I’ll be spending the next couple of days in my PJs resting, recuperating, slowing right down (and eating 😅)..,, I’ve literally just finished a box of
It actually takes so much energy and strength to get up and do even the smallest things sometimes. For me, my little rituals really help. Skincare, long bubble baths and just slowing everything right down.
I don’t know if it’s psychological but it genuinely makes me feel better 🤍
That being said, I’m making it my mission over this festive period to do at least a 30-minute walk a day and make some smoothies in my new because let’s be honest, with all the festive food we’re about to eat, some healthy options are definitely needed. Who’s with me? 🙋🏾♀️

Small things help me fill my cup, warmth, rest, hydration, gentle movement, managing stress and doing things that bring me joy.
Living with sickle cell means being intentional, gentle, and protected, especially in winter.
I haven’t really spoken openly about sickle cell here just a few sprinkles on my stories. Maybe out of fear, embarrassment, anxiety or worrying about being judged. When something isn’t understood, it’s often minimised or overlooked and that happens far too often with sickle cell.
Over the last week and a half, I’ve had that awful cold that seems to be going around. I spent most of it in bed, yet still showed up to work. Not because it was easy but because living with chronic pain teaches you how to carry on.
A bad cold is rough but nothing compares to a crisis. Crises are intense, painful, and unpredictable.
People living with sickle cell deal with constant pain, fatigue, weakened immunity, hospital visits, daily medication and blood transfusions; yet so many still don’t understand or aren’t even aware.
Things shifted slightly during the pandemic, when people with sickle cell were asked to shield and many questioned why.
As I move into 2026, I want to live with more purpose. Sharing this feels like a step towards that.
