So many people have tried and continue to tell us not to do certain things or go to certain places.
It was scary to quit our jobs and take a break from our careers (and stable income) to go travel and experience new places.

Big Bend National Park blew us away and had some incredible hikes with mountains, canyons, rivers, desert, and hot springs.

🟢 Boquillas Canyon Trail - 1.4 miles, 285 ft elevation gain, rated easy
🟢 Emory Peak Trail - 9.4 miles, 2,454 ft elevation gain, rated strenuous
🟢 Santa Elena Canyon Trail - 1.7 miles, 219 ft elevation gain, rated easy
🟢 Big Bend Hot Springs Trail - 1.2 miles, 144 ft elevation gain, rated easy (the road to the trailhead is closed, so you can park on the main road and walk in — it adds about 3 miles RT)

This was my first time hiking to a hot spring for a soak and it was SO nice ☺️

📍Hot Springs Trail, Big Bend National Park, Texas
Typically you can park 0.25 miles from the hot spring, but when we visited Big Bend NP, the road to the spring was closed. So it ended up adding around 3 miles of easy walking.
Many people just hike to the hot spring, but I highly recommend completing the hot spring loop for some incredible views (easy, 1.2 miles RT, 144 ft elevation gain). 😍

Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park is one of the most scenic drives you can go on and it should definitely be on your bucket list! 😍
⏰ Timed entry vehicle reservations required for the west side of Going-to-the-Sun Road from 7 am to 3 pm (June 13 through September 28). If you don’t have a reservation, you should aim to enter before 7 am (we recommend this anyway since parking lots fill up early for trails).
❌ The alpine sections of the road close for winter and generally do not re-open until late June at the earliest. But a small portion of the road is open year-round near the West entrance. Always check road closures!
🚌 Check vehicle limits on the NPS website if you’re a larger vehicle. If your vehicle is longer than 21 ft or wider than 8 ft, then you’ll want to make some other plans to be able to drive the road or consider using the shuttle.
🥾 Most hikes you do will be along this road and parking fills up fast, so you’ll want to go directly to the parking area for your top hikes.
