sooo happy I finally went to get IPL for the first time ✨ I’ve been meaning to do it for yearssss but I think the biggest barrier for me was not knowing enough and feeling intimated by going to ask… so if that resonates, let me explain.

A lot of places will make you do a first initial consult, but you can also just book a first appointment. made it so easy for me to book one. I came in, they made me sign a quick waiver and we went to the room to set up. The appointment took literally 10 minutes and it was really easy.

They usually recommend doing your follow up in 4 weeks but I’ll be away ☀️🌴 so I’ll do it in 5 weeks (which is also totally fine). It’s better to have a longer gap than too short a gap so the hair that hasn’t been targeted can grow.

Highly recommend if any of you have been considering it, I know it’s going to make life sooo much easier. And also dm me if you have questions but I know I did 🫶🏼
nothing like starting the week with a nice cold dip ❄️🌊🏊🏼‍♀️ stilll riding the wave of excitement from the new year ✨ hope you all have the best day 🫶🏼
✨ 2025 ✨

The only way to describe this year was that it was completely life changing.

Going into 2025, I had so many plans, so many exciting trips, goals, hobbies that got smusheddd quite quickly by the pain from my rheumatoid arthritis. I’ve been through some hard things before but nothingggg compared to this.

It puts you in a really dark place to get diagnosed with a disease that prevents you from not only doing what you love the most but one that makes you incapable of physically taking care of your basic needs. Being diagnosed as a person with a disability at 27 was a big pill to swallow and there were points where I genuinely thought I’d never be able to teach, exercise, or even walk again.

Thankfully, with allll the medications I’m on… that is not the case. So that leads me to the next chapter of the year.

I cannot even tell you how grateful I am every single day for the people around me who got me through it, for the job that I absolutely love, and slowly being able to reintroduce hobbies into my life again that bring me so much joy.

Every birthday, holiday and celebration this year has had more meaning than any of the ones I’ve ever had before. And I get so emotional thinking about it because I think it’s crazy how I took it all for granted before.

There is so much to look forward to in the new year because gratitude is a choice and the more we express gratitude for what we have, the more things we’ll find to be grateful for. 💫

I didn’t have the year I thought I was going to have, but I had so many amazing moments with the people I love, I started so many exciting new chapters, and it wasn’t perfect but I’m proud of how I handled everything that happened. I’m glad I didn’t let this disease get the best of me 🫶🏼

sending you all so so so much love for the new year 🫶🏼

happy new year cuties ✨
getting off autopilot is such a conscious and consistent effort 🙏🏼 I wanted to spend the weekend taking a lot of time to reflect on how Ive been feeling on a deeper level because I feel like lately I’ve been sort of on autopilot, running through all the motions but not really feeling grounded.

one big revelation I had during all the journaling was how I haven’t really processed all the emotions that came with the autoimmune disease I got diagnosed with during the summer. I think I was so set on finding a solution and making things work that I didn’t really give myself space to feel or process the huge changes to come.

one of the biggest things I’ve noticed that it’s taken a toll on, is my excitement to plan for things, and overall hope for my future because the minute I get excited i subconsciously remind myself of how all the things I loved doing got ‘taken away’ from me so easily because of my health. And you can’t really control events like that. There is too much to dive into for one post but what I do want to share are some of the prompts I found that helped me get a little deeper into what I was feeling incase they call out to you too ✨

What am I proud of that no one else really saw this year?

What would I do if I trusted that I’m already on time for where I want to go?

What am I allowed to look forward to?

What would I choose to do if the outcome didn’t matter?

Ive never been a huge journal gal, and being vulnerable about emotions is not a huge strength of mine but this genuinely felt soooo healing so maybe it can be a starting point for anyone who needs it too.

Sending you all so so much love 🫶🏼❤️✨

ps. here are some of the other fun things we did this weekend in addition to journaling 💫
UPDATEEEEE ✨

so excited to to announce that I have my first community class at coming up this Thursday 1045am 🥳

I worked at Turf 5 years ago making coffee in their amazing bistro so this is a HUGE full circle moment 🫶🏼

I remember trying to teach my first ever ‘group fitness’ class to my sister and two friends (around 5 years ago) in the old ubc gym and to say it was messssy is the hugest understatement of all time. Feeling so grateful for all the people who have shared their knowledge, patience, and experience in helping me get to a point where I get to teach full time 🙏🏼 I love this job so much, there is not a single moment where I regret leaving corporate life for it ❤️

So maybe this is your signnnn, if you have a dream you can’t stop thinking about don’t stop working towards it, you’ll get there ✨🫶🏼❤️🥳

Happppy December 1st 🗓️ my favourite time of the year 🎄✨

I go back and forth with liking New Year’s resolutions and goals, but one thing I’ve always loved is the start of a new month, especially december 💫 if you’re the kinda person who likes New Year’s resolutions, December is the perfect time to start building and creating momentum for what’s to come 🥳

there’s been many times this year where I’ve felt behind in many ways and had so many set backs which took away my energy and time to build the things I want to build, so I’m learning to move into all new chapters with patience while still being excited for the new things happening 🫶🏼

anywayssss, here’s a recap of some things lately that have made me smileee ❤️ ilyyy all 💫🫶🏼🥳

AUGUST ✨ what an interesting month….

I haven’t gone into much detail about what’s been happening over the last few months with my health because I’ve been in the thick of it with learning, healing and getting out on the other side but August has been a big month overall especially to do with it.

In July I was originally diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, after 7 months of chronic pain in my joints without knowing what was wrong. I had to stop all activities that I loved because of how much pain I was in and the pain was pretty much all I could focus on each day. A few weeks later, after more blood tests, I found out I also tested positive for mixed connective tissue disease which is a more complicated autoimmune disease that emcompasses ones like lupus and 3 other autoimmune diseases.

a big part of the challenge has been the physical pain I deal with daily but a bigger part is the grief and loss of the ‘healthy’ version of me and how my future will inevitably look different now.

the reason August has been a pivotal month is because my meds are finally starting to take some effect and I’m able to have moments with little to no pain. in those moments I cannot even explain how much gratitude I have for everything around me. something living in chronic pain has taught me, is to really be grateful for the good moments and to let go on any of the things that don’t protect your peace.

so overall, there’s a big journey ahead but I’m so grateful for everyone around me who’s been an amazing support system and I’m excited to come out on the other side of this even stronger than before 🫶🏼
