Celebrating Excellence: Skyline Coach Mat Taylor Named Seahawks Flag Coach of the Year! 🏈

The Issaquah School District proudly congratulates Skyline Head Flag Football Coach Mat Taylor on being recognized as the Seahawks Flag Coach of the Year!

In a memorable surprise at Lumen Field, Coach Taylor was honored by Seahawks greats Julian Love and Cliff Avril, who presented him with a custom Seahawks jersey in recognition of his outstanding leadership and impact on the game.

Coach Taylor shared this special moment with his family—his parents, wife, and two children—along with ISD District Athletic Director Jordan Frost, Principal Keith Hennig, and Athletic Director Gary Mogg.

This award caps off a remarkable year for Coach Taylor and the Skyline Spartans, who made history by capturing the inaugural WIAA 4A State Championship in flag football.

We are incredibly proud of Coach Taylor and grateful for the leadership, passion, and excellence he brings to our student-athletes every day.

👏 Please join us in congratulating Coach Taylor on this well-deserved honor!

There is no school on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

On this day, we honor and remember the men and women who gave their lives while serving in the United States military. ❤️🤍💙 We hope our students, staff, and families enjoy a safe and meaningful long weekend.
It’s “Feel Good Friday” at ISD. 😊

🎨💙 What makes each of us unique also helps strengthen our community. At Clark Elementary, a powerful new mural called “The Best Parts of Us” celebrates the individuality, diversity, and belonging of every student.

As part of a schoolwide project, students chose and photographed their favorite part of themselves, from smiles and freckles to hands, eyes, and hearts, creating a stunning collaborative mural that now fills the school’s main hallway.

The project has sparked meaningful conversations about kindness, acceptance, and celebrating what makes each person special. 💙
