Un dato increíble de este lugar es que a diferencia de otras ciudades mayas, Uxmal no tenía cenotes cercanos, así que sus habitantes desarrollaron sistemas para recolectar y almacenar agua de lluvia. Por eso el dios Chaac aparece en gran parte de su arquitectura.
