This exquisite Nokshi Kantha is more than just textile art, it is a beautiful expression of memory, storytelling, and tradition. Originating from the Bangla region.

Nokshi Kantha is a centuries-old embroidery craft lovingly created by rural women using layers of old cloth stitched together by hand,
Every motif in this piece carries meaning. The intricate patterns, spirals, floral forms, and symbolic shapes reflect themes of nature, life, protection, spirituality, and everyday stories passed down through generations. Each stitch represents patience, craftsmanship, and emotion behind each work.
India is full of Art and timeless craftsmanship.

This find is unreal. Collectors go crazy here.

A hidden gem in Jaipur that feels like stepping into another century.

Did you already know about them? Have you ever visited their store?

📍House No. 941, Pano Ka Dariba Subhash Chowk, Jaipur

Let me tell you a little about them, since 1960, one family has turned their own home into an antique store — some of the items are easily over 100 years old, everything here sourced from across the country.

You will spend hours walking alongside Mr. Sawan Kumar and his son Tej, discovering… tapestries, block prints, manuscripts, textiles, postcards, sculptures, paintings, jewellery… every piece here tells a story.

If you’re visiting Jaipur, add INDIA ART HOUSE to your list and see what treasure you find.

Stepped into a place that doesn’t quite belong to this century. Old, Jaipur. Hundreds of years of objects just existing there, unhurried, layered on top of each other like memories no one bothered to sort. The smell hits you first. Dust, sandalwood, something older than both. Then your eyes start adjusting and you realise there’s no order here, and that’s exactly the point. Every corner holds something that’s already outlived several worlds. You don’t browse a place like this. You get absorbed by it. I stood there not entirely sure which timeline I was standing in, but didn’t want to find out.
Where devotion meets forgotten grandeur
Jagat Shiromani Temple, Amer, Jaipur

A queen named Kanakavati raised it from stone. Built in 1599–1608. Not for victory, not for power—but for a son who wouldn’t come home, Prince Jagat Singh.

Inside lives the Krishna, Meera Bai once sang to. Legend says the Krishna idol here is the very one Meera Bai worshipped in Mewar.

The ceiling of this temple is a lost world of murals and frescoes—scenes from Ramayan, Bhagavat Puran, and Krishna’s raas-leela, all painted in vegetable dyes where the gold leaf still catches light in corners. The sanctum’s ceilings are barred to the public now, guarded not by priests but by bats. (Well, their droppings have forced ASI to restrict access to preserve what’s left.)

So the most beautiful part of Jagat Shiromani is the one few eyes see. A paradox—art preserved by abandonment.

Places like this remind me why pages like exist. Based right here in Jaipur, they’re obsessed with keeping these stories alive—the art, the marble, the grief and glory carved into memories. If you care about art that breathes, follow them. They get it!

Go for the architecture. Stay for the ache.
This place remembers what it means to lose something, and love it anyway.

What a joy to meet Princess Gauravi Kumari today at Indian Art House. 🌸 She beautifully blends tradition with modern grace, She continues to keep the royal legacy alive while connecting with the people of the Pink City. Wishing her a very Happy Birthday filled with love, health, and happiness! 👑✨🎉🥰
A treasure trove hidden in the Old City 🖼️✨🎨 Immaculately curated by Mr Sarwan Kumar and his family. Welcome to ✨

On our first visit we bought a beautiful antique painting on canvas and some miniature art for our house in London. Today I popped back to curate a set of paintings of angrakha kurtas, each dating back over 40 years. I will return soon for more, no doubt! ✨

It’s unique places like this that inspire me so deeply here in Jaipur - though it feels unworthy to call it a shop, it’s so much more. Push it straight to the top of your list 🎨🩷
