ARCHIVE • Soft Works 2022
RAMMED RUBBER • The Rammed Rubber Series explores the transfer of architectural construction methods into the realm of domestic furniture. Developed in collaboration with Marta LA, the series marks its US debut at Post Fair in Los Angeles.
For this occasion, a set of booth furniture consisting of two stools and one table was developed, accompanied by an armchair prototype that outlines the broader scope of the series. All objects are produced using a process derived from the rammed earth technique. In this adaptation, concrete is replaced by EPDM rubber mulch (RAL 3016), bound with a flexible binder and compacted layer by layer into formwork.
The resulting playground-grade composite is formed around a concealed substructure, introducing a controlled elasticity that provides a subtle, comfortable give to the seating surfaces and backrests. Through this process, the series balances mass and density with tactile softness, maintaining an architectural presence while addressing domestic use.

FIBREBOARD COFFEE TABLE • Revisiting the Fiberboard Series went hand in hand with an ongoing urge to elevate one of the furniture industry’s most commonly used materials: chipboard. Mostly hidden behind functional layers of white melamine, this versatile composite material has already lived many lives.
The Fiberboard Coffee Table marks the starting point of a new series, highlighting the desirable qualities of this democratic material. An iron acetate treatment and a matte boat lacquer clear coat form the basis of an expressive surface finish that stands out in direct light. As the viewing angle shifts, the surface recedes into the background, revealing a subtle, minimalist design. This shifting appearance can be understood as a metaphor for changing perspectives on material perception.
