Today we celebrate you and I just want the world to know how much you mean to me. These past six months⊠I truly donât know how I would have survived them without you. You held everything together when I couldnât. You coordinated everything for Christian, you showed up in ways I didnât even know how to ask for, and you loved my girls so well, even taking them to see BeyoncĂ© in Vegas when I couldnât get out of bed. That alone says everything about who you are. I am so grateful for you and so incredibly proud of you. You are smart, beautiful, kind, and insanely talented. An amazing teacher, so creative, and capable of doing anything you put your mind to. I admire you more than I probably say. You are also an incredible mother to Ronald. Being able to raise our children together side by side supporting each other has been everything. I know this has been a really rough year for us, but today I hope you truly enjoy your day because you deserve every bit of joy, love, and celebration coming your way.

For 2024 I had this vision for our Christmas photoshoot to give Vintage Black Excellence. I planned months in advance and had my checklist ready and everything. The morning of the photoshoot I got up went and got my makeup done by while Christian was at the house in charge of his sisterâs so we could be ready to go as soon as I pulled up. My makeup was flawless, we all looked great and headed to the photo studio when I got a call from our photographer asking how close we were to the studio. We had just left the house so I was like we about 20 minutes out and thatâs when she told me that our photoshoot was at 12 when the whole time I was thinking it was at 12:30. Yâall I almost cried! My ADHD brain looked at the confirmation text, saw 12- 12:30 and ran with it smh. Me and my kids look so good and I knew if we did not get the pictures taken that day it wasnât going to happen, but thankfully Kesha was like no problem we can just do it downtown. She had one more session and would just meet us there. The photoshoot turned out perfectly, better than I couldâve ever imagined not knowing that this would be our last time taking pictures together as a family. After taking pictures, we walked over to to have a really nice brunch before we headed home. This day will always hold a special place in my heart was started out as stressful and chaotic ended weâre beautiful memories, laughter, and love.
The last slide is from us stopped at a stoplight, headed home (the mimosas got me). These men at the bus stop where yelling to Christian about his beautiful âladyâ đ€. My baby yelled âThats my Mamaâ so proud and we all laughed and laughed!

I felt defeated. I felt overwhelmed. And one day, I just⊠let it go.
I didnât cut my hair to reinvent myself.
I cut it because when you lose your child, you lose pieces of yourself you never thought youâd have to live without.
I needed to feel like something was still in my control.
And in that moment, letting my hair go made me feel just a little bit lighter.
Quick little story time: The last school year I decided I was not going to waste my time writing my kids names on their school supplies. I just packed up all of the supplies and dropped them to their classroom at meet the teacher night. Fast forward to the first day of school, Sydneyâs teacher was a no-show so she bounced around a little bit before landing in a new classroom. Guess what wasnât bounced around⊠those school supplies that I failed to write her name on đ©.
Needless to say this year I will be labeling all school supplies for a good measure. Tell me, do you label your kiddos school supplies before sending them to school?
I caught these sweetest moment today! Christian my 19 y/o actually agreed to go outside and join Skylar and Sydney for their âpicnicâ. Now was the picnic very short because they only had a few grapes and a handful of popcorn to snack on⊠yes đ. But it made my heart so full seeing all 3 of my kids spending quality time together. đ„ș
