At this year's ID Graduate Celebration, our speakers didn't offer graduates a roadmap. They offered something better: conviction in their capacity to navigate a world that won't wait for perfect conditions.
ID Alumni and student speaker Faysal Biobaku (MDes 2025) and ID alum (MDes 2003) shared what ID taught them—lessons about leading through disruption, framing problems no one else sees, and understanding that the rarest skill in any room is asking the right question.
They spoke about not just withstanding change, but drawing energy from it. About acting before conditions are perfect, because waiting for certainty costs more than any failed attempt.
Most importantly, they reminded our graduates that their superpowers aren't just lines on a resume—they're gifts meant to change the teams they join and the systems they touch.
Our 2026 graduates have learned to lead with curiosity, move with confidence, design with trust, and build for ease. They've asked questions no one had answers to, and built things that didn't exist.
They've learned that uncertainty isn't the enemy. It's where designers are needed most, and where they do their best work.
