With extremely long hours and a packed work schedule lately, staying healthy isn't optional - it's essential. I truly can't afford to get sick or feel drained during the day, as sometimes I have to be at work for up to 17 hours a day. Long days demand real fuel.

I've been consistently taking these fiery ginger wellness shots by to get me through. They're packed with 13,500 mg of ginger, to support my immune system and keep my energy levels up from morning to night. They've become a non-negotiable in my routine to help me stay focused and on top of everything, even on my busiest days. I stick to what I trust and I've been loving this brand for years.

2016 was the year.

The new beginning ✨️

2016 was the year I took my first solo trip (to London, UK). 2016 was the year that my travels began. 2016 was the year we got to go back home for the first time in over 10 years.

I had planned a summer away from home for an exchange program in New Brunswick. Flights booked and paid for. Then I got my first job right before summer and had to cancel as I couldn't get time off work. Instead, I worked hard for six months and all throughout the summer. 2016 was also the year I started getting more into food and travel photography. It was the year I was into hosting theme parties, was into camping and exploring hidden gems.

We did mostly local trips, had family visit from abroad (which meant lots of roadtrips to local towns, and creating the most Canadian gift basket as a welcome gift) and then got to fit a short weekend getaway to California, where I went to San Diego and Los Angeles.

Towards the end of the year, we took our first weekend trip to Zurich, Switzerland to check out the Christmas market. It was during exams season, so we came back after only 2 days. Right after completing my exams, I went on my first solo trip (to London, UK), which then marked the beginning of my travel journey.

The way your year starts is an indication of what the rest of the year will look like.

2025 was the year of plot twists, the unexpected and the ultimate reminder that we are only capable of so much. There is a lot beyond our control and many times, despite planning, you'll fail.

I thought I'd be in Vietnam in January, as I celebrated the New Year in Malaysia and it was a short flight away. I never got approved for the visa, and only made it there 6 months later. However, the year started better than I could've imagined, with an unplanned and completely unexpected trip to Makkah (literally had to shop for clothes there), followed by a chaotic trip to Morocco February came with a surprise as well, a last minute press trip to Elora. You could say that despite having repeated the same destinations multiple times throughout the year (Saudi 3x, Morocco x4, Spain x2), every single trip came with different experiences, challenges and stories.

If there is anything that I took away from all the unexpected moments, it's to take a step back and see what matters most. On a recent trip to the U.K and South Africa, it struck me that the connections you make is so important. Keeping good ties and reconnecting with people who you care about, even if it's been over 30 years makes a huge difference.

My 2025 travel wrapped is not about the number of trips I've taken, because if it was up to me, I would've wanted to only go to new destinations I haven't been to before. This year was about trusting in what was meant to be and accepting that with the highs will come the lows.

Can you guess all the destinations?

Come on a day trip with me in Portugal with!

What I love most about traveling is the opportunity to learn. Rewind to the past and take a step back into history, hear about the stories that remain. Booking a full day guided tour allows you to experience the country and sites in a new light.

On this particular day trip from Lisbon, we visited Cascais, the Cape of Good Rock, Sintra and Pena Palace. I found that the day was split pretty well, giving you time to explore on your own, and the chance to hear from the guide. I especially love being able to book smaller group tours, which gives you a better experience and more flexibility (in my opinion). We were picked up at a convenient location in Downtown Lisbon, and had a packed day, with a very knowledgeable and friendly guide, Ricardo from!

Get Your Guide makes it easy, by offering unique and wonderful tours around the world. You can get a taste of the city through your palatte to going on thrilling adventures. There's something for everybody. Download the app using my link (in bio) and use my code IEATTRAVELWRITE5 for an additional discount at checkout.

Looking for a fun activity this holiday season?

Check out in Markham mall. I was thrilled to find Canada's new co-baking studio and café, especially since I've been into baking these past few months. The best part is that you can learn a new skill, without having to worry about the mess as it's taken care of for you.

I had a blast making this lychee lemon yuzu cake. Brought the cake over to a friend's place and it left great impressions, especially as they couldn't believe I made this. When booking a session at Bakebe, you'll get an iPad loaded with all instructions to guide you through the baking and decorating process. There are friendly staff also available to help you if needed.

Whip up some sweet memories and book a session. Bakebe has partnered with talented pastry chefs from Michelin-starred restaurants to craft their menu, meaning you're guaranteed to leave with a delicious cake, no matter which one you choose to go for. Choose from their holiday selection, cupcakes, express cakes, oreo cake, lemon meringue and more.

Bring a friend, a loved one or go by yourself and enjoy a good time.

New to solo travel?

Start with comfort and slowly make your way to discomfort.

Let me explain ⤵️

Whenever people find out that I'm a solo traveler, the first question I'm always asked is, "aren't you scared?" or they'll say, "wow, you're so brave!"

After 9 years of solo traveling, it only got easier because when I first started traveling, I was limited to where I was allowed to go. I took way too many trips to Dubai, to the point that I got tired of it. Those trips, though it felt repetitive to do the same things and see the same places, actually helped me become more comfortable. I started traveling young and at the time, I was limited as to where I was allowed to go, but I didn't want that to stop me from going. So I went, over and over again. From booking my own hotels, to deciding where to eat, shop and what to do day-by-day, every trip made me stronger in accepting challenges along the way, meeting new people from all over and appreciating new cultures, so nothing came at a shock.

Now, almost 10 years later, I've been to all continents and working on hitting as many countries as I can. If there's anything I learned from solo travel, it's that there are still good people and hope for a better world (but that doesn't necessarily mean that you should trust everyone. Still, take be cautious).

Solo travel is one of the best experiences you can have, that can shape you into a better you, but it's not for everybody. Either you hate it or you love it.

Have you solo traveled and if so, where to?

That's a wrap for 2025!

The World Travel Market has been an event that's been on my list for years and I've finally made it to London this year just for the event. With an average of 18K steps per day, and over 2 hours of commute back & forth from the hotel, every moment spent at the ExCel was worth it, even if I'm exhausted after 3 days. This event was a reminder of the power of connections/networking, the beauty that the world has to offer and the endless opportunities that await.

Not only did I taste the most expensive chocolate in the world but I also learned about the importance of the conservation of cacao. I took part in cultural traditions, and got to learn so much more about one of my favourite destinations (The Red Sea), as well as many other places to inspire my future travels, from Africa, to the Caribbeans, to the Middle East. Some of my favourite booths were Saudi (the best one in my opinion) & Qatar.

The future of AI in travel is looking bright, with potential applications that can revolutionize the industry. It was also quite interesting to attend a few different panels to learn about halal travel and so much more.

What are you excited to see in the future in the travel industry?

The BEST bedroom view I've ever had!

Number one destination on my bucketlist for as long as I can remember.

No place compares.

Pristine. Raw. Untouched. Magical. Breathtaking.

Feels like another planet.

No words or visuals can do this place justice. You need to experience it for yourself. They say nothing worth having comes easy. Beware, the journey may be a long painful one, but once you reach the destination, it feels like it was all a blur once you've crossed and see those picture perfect views.

The views, experience and the place makes the treacherous journey through what I like to call the "Death" passage, worth it.

This was one of my favourite moments. Icebergs never fail to amaze me. Each is formed to perfection and each is unique. The details on them are also incredible.
