これを見て「なぜ日本の伝統がここまで不当に扱われなきゃいけないんだ？」と強い憤りを感じる方も多いはずです。
本来、旭日旗は江戸時代から大漁旗や出産・節句のお祝いなど、私たちの日常生活に深く根ざした、日本古来の「縁起の良い伝統デザイン」です。国際法上も自衛艦旗として世界に認められています。
それがなぜ、ここまで過剰に敵視され、規制されるようになってしまったのか？
決定的なきっかけは、2011年のアジアカップ日韓戦における、ある韓国人選手の不適切な「猿真似パフォーマンス」でした。その行為への批判をかわすための「旭日旗を見てカッとなった」という後付けの言い訳から、すべてが始まったと言われています。
そこから相手側の組織的で激しい国際ロビー活動が始まり、欧米のメディアやFIFAなどの国際団体は、歴史の真偽よりも「揉め事を避けるため」という事なかれ主義で一律に規制するようになってしまいました。
