Our cients get the same structure. When they travel, we simply move online and continue training in real time - from their gyms, hotels, or vacation homes. The format changes, the progress does not.
Whether it’s the left or right side we speak to people all the time who feel gaslit about the issues they are feeling..
On one end you get “just get stronger, keep lifting both sides, maybe try single leg stuff”
Or you have been “diagnosed as a LAIC pattern, stop lifting immediately and purchase this Kazoo 🪈”
Kidding but not really 🫠 these are stories from real consults.
At we live in the middle, the trenches or the real world coaching real people where words matter and being strong is not a bad thing.

The real gold is not just how to tuck/ post tilt even though that helps…
The real secret sauce is in the quality of the contractions allowing you to load these end range positions in both directions.

I have a variation of this conversation with clients weekly.
There is so much bad information out there that overcoming limiting thoughts from YouTube or IG ends up being a decent portion of sessions early on.
I heard I need to pull 3 times more than I pull.
I read 1-3 reps is a waste of time and bad.
My friend said over 10 reps is a waste of time.
I saw a reel that said rounding your back is bad.
Don’t get lost in the sauce. Always start with common sense.
Please move your spine. Start unloaded then add load so it’s enough to create adaption and not too much to create injury.

Grateful for the memories and lessons but I’m happy to put this one behind me.

1️⃣ Can you get your hands behind you?
2️⃣ Can you get your hands overhead?
3️⃣ Does your shoulder rotate well? IR & ER?
That’s it 🤣 it really can be that simple.
Endless ways to work on it.
If you find your shoulder mobility is holding you back then prioritize it once a week and maybe 5-10 minutes in your warm ups.
In this session we went all in and started with some high intensity PAILs/RAILs for IR and ER. This opens up capsular space to then load with the exercises in the video.
We also programmed 1-2 specific positional breathing drills to open up space from within. Getting the ribs pumping in between sessions can keep the new space. Some might even benefit from doing this before the high intensity isometrics.
Lot of ways to be successful.

Whenever someone performs an abduction exercise (think side butt or pushing sideways) they tend to hike their hip up to fake motion at the femur.
A really helpful visual is to picture the femur driving out of the socket (think hip lock)
This should light up the outside of the hip like you have never felt before… can even lead to some serious shakes.
If you are weak here…. You will know. It is not uncommon that people can barely hold 5 seconds before shifting away from the wall which is what I call “getting kicked out”
Give this a try. You can add it anywhere but works great at a warm up
We are going to post the exercise we use as a progression soon so make sure you are following 🤟🏼
