Greece was so good to us.
Athens felt alive in a way I did not expect. The Parthenon glowing above the city, the Temple of Poseidon standing above the Aegean, the impossible colours of the rocks and water, Greek salads, long meals in beautiful tavernas, sunsets and all the beautiful chaos in between.
I arrived thinking about Homer’s Odyssey and this ancient land of the gods. In that world, xenia was sacred. It was hospitality protected by Zeus, rooted in the idea that any stranger could be a god in disguise.
And perhaps that was the Greece I found. People who welcomed us with open hearts. Deep friendships, generosity, conversations and the feeling of meeting each other heart to heart. When we open ourselves in that way, we begin to recognize the divine in everyone. Sharing it all with Angela made it even more beautiful.
Athena’s Dream is also the name of the four hour extended set I recorded live at BOO Athens. Music is how I translate what I receive. A place enters me through its people, landscapes, stories and energy, then finds its way back into the world through sound. This set became my transmission of what Greece gave me, carrying its movement, mystery and magic forward.
I left with the certainty that the gods still live in this land. In the light, in the sea, in the stranger who becomes a friend and in everything that passes through us and becomes creation.

The places changed. The people made them home.
I have been thinking about Keter, the crown, and about the number one. Singularity, the beginning, the self. I have often understood myself through that aloneness.
But one point alone does not make a Tree of Life. It becomes part of something greater through connection.
These travels reminded me that belonging does not ask us to become less individual. It gives our individuality somewhere to meet the world. Through shared meals, long conversations, dance floors, laughter and all the unplanned moments between, we create something that could not exist through any of us alone.
We arrive as individuals, but we do not become ourselves alone.
Attention is a form of intimacy. With another person, with the world and also with ourselves.
I spend much of my life being looked at, especially during performances. But being truly seen is different. There is a gentleness in a gaze that asks nothing from you. It simply allows you to exist.
Maybe attention is one of the purest forms of love. And maybe learning to see myself with that same attention is also part of becoming.

I have spent so much of my life looking for the next experience. Another place, another moment, another version of life. And I still love the extraordinary.
But I am learning that abundance can also be very simple.
The sun through a caravan window. Wild berries by the side of a path. A pumpkin becoming soup. The sea. The quiet. Being present enough to receive what nature keeps giving.
In the Yoga Sutras, Patanjali speaks of aparigraha. Not grasping. Not because we should stop desiring or experiencing life, but because when we stop searching for more, we can finally see what is already here.
This is what I want to carry with me. Simplicity is not about having less. It is being present enough for what is here to feel like everything.
We keep evolving, but we all begin somewhere.
I left Portugal many years ago. Maybe leaving is also part of being Portuguese. We have always stood at the edge of the land, looked at the ocean and wondered what was beyond it.
I believe we belong to something much bigger than one country. Still, every time I return, I feel how much of this land lives in me. In my memories, my conditioning, my blood and in the people who knew me before everything else.
We inherit many things. Some we heal. Some we continue. Some simply remind us who we are.
We move, repeat and continue, often without asking if we still want what we are moving towards.
This year, I paused.
Not because I stopped caring. I needed space to feel what I actually wanted.
A pause is not empty. It lets us integrate what we have lived, see what we have already received and leave room for something new.
I may return to some of the same places and projects, but I won’t return as the same person.
Maybe that is the point. We keep evolving, and so does the way we experience things. As long as our perspective stays fresh, even what we already know can become new again.
