With uninterrupted views of the Yarra River at the front of
house, the design prioritises landscape as the primary driver
of the workplace experience. Built form along the façade is
deliberately minimised, reducing fullheight partitions to
preserve outlook, maximise natural light and maintain a
strong visual connection to the river throughout the space.
Warm timber volumes anchor communal areas, while
layered glazing, softened curves and textured finishes
introduce depth and transition. Natural light is treated as a
key design material, shaping both open breakout zones and
more intimate spaces with a strong connection to the Yarra
River. Detailing is restrained yet deliberate, mirrored skirting
enhances lightness, planter boxes soften edges, and a
marble benchtop adds refinement. A sculptural reception
desk anchors the arrival experience. Every finish is carefully
considered, contributing to a cohesive, crafted workplace.
Originally commissioned as a speculative workplace, the
project evolved through multiple iterations before finding its
ideal occupant. It is now realised as the new home for PGP
Consulting, demonstrating how a flexible, placeresponsive
design can adapt over time while maintaining its architectural
intent. Central to the project’s success was close
collaboration with the builder, whose attention to detail and
respect for the design ensured a crafted and precise
outcome.
The result is a space that celebrates workmanship
across joinery, junctions, materials and finishes and a project
shaped by context, strengthened by collaboration, and
brought to life through craft.

McCormack recently partnered with Artifex Property Group and IA Group to deliver a high-spec workplace for PGP Consulting that connects level 11 with 11a at 31 Queen Street. Leveraging our extensive experience within this building, we were able to draw on deep infrastructure knowledge, enhancing both the asset’s rental performance and long-term capital value.
The design maximises the existing built conditions, retaining the internal staircase to create seamless vertical connectivity through a double-height void. The floorplate is carefully zoned to capture expansive glazing, flooding the workspace with natural light to support occupant wellbeing.
Biophilic elements were thoughtfully integrated into the custom timber joinery within the kitchen and breakout areas, softening architectural lines and creating a more inviting environment. This versatile “third space,” featuring stone finishes and movable furniture, easily adapts from everyday lunch breaks to collaborative meetings and large-scale town hall events.

IA is proud to have contributed to the Australian Taxation Office headquarters at 15 Sydney Avenue, Barton ACT. A 33,500sqm workplace bringing together over 2,500 staff into a single, purpose-built environment within Canberra's Parliamentary Triangle.
What made this project distinctive was the depth of integration. Base building and interior design were aligned from the outset, allowing the architecture and workplace to function as one cohesive whole. From the central atrium and interconnecting stair to flexible, unallocated work settings across six A-grade floors, every element was considered in context of the full environment.
The result is a contemporary, secure, and future-ready workplace that supports hybrid working, improves space efficiency, and is built to adapt alongside the organisation it serves.
Delivered in partnership with DOMA, Kenyon Group, and BLOC, with base building architecture by BVN, and supported by a deeply collaborative extended project team.

At 309 Kent Street, Sydney, IA delivered a new 600m² premium End-of-Trip facility that goes well beyond the expected. The brief called for best-in-class amenity, timeless finishes, integrated greenery, biophilic elements, and inclusive design that supports tenant wellbeing now and into the future.
