The tiny cuts on this one are crucial, giving a soft tone when viewed from a distance but then the detail reveals itself upon closer inspection. The smallest cuts are much smaller than 1mm in size and to do them took a whole day of patient cutting, with breaks to uncross my eyes and straighten my aching back!

This is my first etched into copper and again, much to learn! Copper is superior to all the other materials I’ve used, gives a very bold line and holds super fine lines too. This bee is perhaps 12cm from wing tip to wing tip, about 4.5 inches.

This one is on an acetate plate, I didn’t think it would work so well so I’m being VERY careful printing it with the hope of achieving a print run that I might be to put on sale.

The teal bloc and the black are gently abraded to lift the grain of the wood, giving a pleasing weathered look to this print, very much a trope of the #sosakuhanga movement of printmaking in post WW2 Japan.
