This charity feels close to my heart, and it reminds me of Sean. It’s made me think about how much kindness, support and respite can mean in tough times.

I’m late to this trend, but maybe this was the right time to post this.
This was me in the 90s. In my twenties, I was a single parent then, working hard in restaurants and as a model, studying, bringing up Sean, feeling joy and having fun.
I started uni full time at the end of the 90s to study news journalism which led to me being a magazine editor.
On Saturday it was Sean’s birthday. He would have been 30.
He taught me that joy can happen every day, even when things are difficult.
It’s true. I’m sad and happy at the moment.
I’m having moments of joy!

Instead of a first dance, they kicked off the evening with a karaoke duet, and honestly, what a way to start the party!
