The final exhibition at Huidenclub.
Before closing permanently its doors, Huidenclub presents How Things End, a group exhibition bringing together artists and designers whose works reflect, each in their own way, on endings.
Not only loss or mourning, but also transformation, disappearance, erosion, and the quiet cycles through which things pass and persist. From fragile ecosystems to personal mythologies, the works explore what it means for something to come to an end, and what remains afterwards.
The exhibition will run until 10 May and marks the final chapter of Huidenclub.

The Artist and the curator will be present from 14:00 to 17:00.
The exhibition is an immersive installation by artist Jeanne Vrastor that responds to the layered history of the Huidenclub as a former tannery and its current function as a space for work, social gathering and reflection. Vrastor draws on the siteâs legacy of material-based gestures, connecting them to prehistoric craft practices and cave environments where humans once were practicing basket-weaving while water formed into stalagmites.
At the heart of the installation is a large hollow sculpture made from microbial cellulose (SCOBY leather), slowly stained by dripping water. Two smaller aluminum works, modeled on fragments of prehistoric woven fabrics, are witnessing the microbial and sonic processes at play. Together, the installation merges craft, archaeology, and speculative futures, offering a new sense of time through material transformation.
The title of the show refers to how material behaviours are often misunderstood. Drops are considered to fall in a straight line, but stalagmites show us the opposite. The shape of the drop is not perfect; it changes as it moves through space for a duration of time. If drops would fall in a straight line they would create holes. These kinds of discoveries stand at the basis of Vrastorâs work. In a playful manner, Vrastor points to how over time, well-known beliefs such as these are refuted and the underlying hierarchical structures of intelligence - in which human intelligence is often at the top - start to crumble and morph.
Thanks to for intiating the show, for the graphic design for the communication and for supporting Vrastorâs practice.
In the context of âA drop does not fall in a straight lineâ, the first site-specific solo exhibition by Jeanne Vrastor, we are pleased to share the upcoming programme and warmly welcome you to join.
On Saturday 6 December at 18:00, Jeanne Vrastor will be in conversation with the curator of the exhibition, Berber Meindertsma and Rawad Baaklini who initiated the connection. The discussion will explore the research and material investigations that inform her practice, touching on themes such as caves, time, and gesture, and examining how these ideas take shape in the sculptural works on view.
Earlier in the afternoon, from 15:00 to 17:00, artist and radio maker Ash will present a vinyl listening session in response to the exhibition, featuring field recordings, quiet interludes, and experimental sound. This session is organised as part of the BOVEN listening lounge.
Free entrance, no rsvp needed
Jeanne Vrastor first site-specific solo exhibition opened last week at the Huidenclub.
In A drop does not fall in a straight line Jeanne Vrastor presents two new bodies of work: a duo of aluminium works shaped after pieces of prehistoric woven fabrics that have been found in archeological excavations and a sculptural installation grown from microbial cellulose (SCOBY leather). Resonating with the layered temporalities and traditions of the Huidenclub as a former tannery and its current function as a place for work, social gathering and reflection, the works form an installation that transforms material, sound and gesture into a lived experience of time.
About the artist
Upon graduating from Sandbergâs Dirty Art Department in 2021, Jeanne Vrastor committed herself to researching the entangled relationships between material agency and time. In her work, Jeanne conceives intelligence as a relational, embodied, and material phenomenon. Minds and things are continuous and co-constitutive. We do not merely use objects; we become through them. Understanding human cognition therefore requires a close examination of how materials, gestures, and environments shape and enact thought.

Join us for the opening of âA drop does not fall in a straight lineâ, the first site-specific solo exhibition by Jeanne Vrastor, developed in dialogue with curator Berber Meindertsma, on Saturday 22 November from 17:00 to 21:00. The show will be on view at the Huidenclub until 20 December 2025.
Conceived as an immersive installation, the exhibition activates and continues the traditions and gestures that were once central to the Huidenclub as a former tannery by re-enacting them and introducing new ones. Together, the installation proposes a genealogy of craft gestures that give us another understanding of time.

It's time for Sonoor to say goodbye to the space where we had the freedom to experiment and evolve. Where organisers, artists, volunteers and visitors (and some really good coffee) came together. Some special memories will stay, while we will move on to a new location - but not before we host one final session at.
Cat A Lula loves to roam the dusty corners of left field and downtempo curveballs. Find her playing these records on her Krokodyle radio show at Operator Radio. Since 2024, she also hosts Sunflowers Radio, a series spotlighting diverse FLINTA* artists and voices from the radio and music industry alongside forward-thinking electronic projects.
LUCI & Guido, usually the hosts of Sonoor, but this time they will take the opportunity to share some tracks and memories from the past listening sessions.
We hope to find you for this intimate last listening session, thank you for being part of this adventure.
