We had a great time looking at their beautiful new showroom that was huge! Can we please take a moment to appreciate the gorgeous upholstery and bedrooms?
The lovely Bex from was there making some gorgeous bouquets, I picked up one for our bedroom!
There were some beautiful pieces but I especially loved their extending tables because we’re forever hosting these days and I love the idea of having more room for everyone to sit comfortably!
What caught your eye?👀
I still can’t believe how bad this room was beforehand. The walls were thick with nicotine, the ceiling was covered in polystyrene tiles hiding a multitude of cracks!
I love a box room because you can wallpaper the entire space to make it feel cosy and cohesive 💛
This is also a reminder that a baby doesn’t need a nursery straight away! Alice didn’t get this room until she was 9 months old!✨💛🌻
This is your reminder that your baby doesn’t need a nursery straight away! Before she had her own room she was in with us and we had a chest of drawers just for her clothes and changing mat
Alice’s room was the worst condition in the house, it had polystyrene tiles and nicotine stained walls with so many cracks. It took a lot of prep to get this room into a standard to even begin decorating!
But I’m so pleased with how it turned out! The delicate wallpaper with pops of soft yellow is everything I dreamed of when creating a special haven for her 💛✨
I actually think the box room can be the sweetest little space 💛🥹
Hoping my girls have the relationship we have because she is amazing!🥰✨
Going into the year with slow days and embracing the house after the Christmas madness. Suddenly the everyday mess doesn’t seem so overwhelming 😅
Glad for the routine again, teaching myself that it’s ok not to do it all at once and focusing on one thing at a time or at least trying 🤭
Newness in the hallway with the tiles I had on my moodboard before we even owned the house!
Winter sunshine shining through even though it’s bitterly cold out there. Movie days are totally ok and my children won’t suffer if I don’t get them out everyday especially when they refuse hats and gloves then cry! Mums of toddlers I see you too 😂
I really do love the snow and spend most of my winter looking at the clouds seeing if it’ll turn snowy ❄️
Nourishing my body with good foods again after the Christmas chocolates. Not being strict but I’m enjoying a less rich diet and starting to move again
One thing I am doing this year is saying yes more which is why you found me at a speakeasy bar on a Wednesday night in London! 🍸
A fresh coat of paint, new wallpaper, and architrave detailing can work magic!
I've added some before photos with the original furniture, a great way to see the transformation without replacing everything!
Let me know what you think in the comments 🌸🌸🌸
This room will always feel special, it was the first space we tackled and the beginning of it all.
We wanted one room that felt finished and safe while the rest of the house was under renovation. The girls have always shared, so giving them the biggest room felt like a small way to say this is yours 🌷
From uncovering huge cracks behind polystyrene tiles (not so great), to finding the original door hidden away (major bonus) this room revealed so many little stories.
We wallpapered the walls in Gorgeous Gardenia by adding the softest pattern to the space 🌸
The beds were Facebook Marketplace finds that I primed and painted to match, alongside a bookcase that I also painted, one of the ways we saved money while still making a big impact.
I finished the room with traditional details like the dado rail behind their bed and updated the wardrobe by adding architrave, then painted everything in Potters Pink by the perfect pink!🌸
The carpet and curtains will be replaced at a later date, but for now this room feels calm, cosy and completely theirs, proof that thoughtful choices can make a big impact without a big budget 💛
What would you like to know more about or what room you’d like to see next? Let me know in the comments 💭🌸
What I hadn’t anticipated was all the amazing discoveries we’ve made along the way. In doing so we’re adding an extension that will give us much more room but will also be sympathetic to the rest of the house in its design!
I can’t wait to share more with you as we begin to decorate and put our stamp on this house to make it our family home 💛
It was so hard at the time especially going through pregnancy during lockdown but looking back it all worked out in the end 🫶🏻
It’s been a long time coming but I’ve finally decided on a new name for my account!
The name ‘shelley_cottage’ no longer reflects the spirit of our lovely new home. As we embrace our new space filled with joy, laughter, and a house full of little women, it’s time for a new name that embodies our journey.
I can’t wait to share more with you all!
Love Vicky (not Shelley)
