With a range of mains including gnocchi, risotto and aubergine parmigiana, hot and cold focaccia sandwiches and sides, the menu is absolutely packed.
We’re always on the lookout for a good sarnie spot and tried the chicken alla vodka, crispy chicken cutlet with spicy nduja, creamy stracciatella and fresh basil pesto. So decadent, so good.
We also ordered the gnocchi ragu, a huge serving of rich slow cooked ragu, salsiccia and soft pillowy gnocchi, with Nonnas’s meatballs and truffle Parmesan fries on the side, all hot, made fresh to order and delicious.
Huge thanks to the team for having us on a busy Sunday afternoon!

Every Sunday, the tasting menu offers 5 delicious courses for just £29.
Every dish was a knock out - from the celeriac brined and double baked ‘pastrami’ through to the rich dark chocolate mousse with sherry-soaked raisins, but we particularly loved the brie parfait with rhubarb which tasted even better than it looks.
The value for money is unbelievable, with an optional wine pairing for an additional £32 (which we also fully recommend).
Being a wine bar, the team obviously know what they’re doing when it comes to wine pairings and this was phenomenal. Both the food and the wines complimented each other beautifully, with the flavours evolving throughout each dish.
Unassuming, creative, bold and thoughtful, the food at is exceptional - some of the best food we’ve had in the city. What a start to year and we can’t wait to see what the team come up with next.
Tickets are flying out so head to the Gills & Co website for tickets ASAP!

Delicious yakiniku offering for you to cook yourself, with freshly prepared meats and an all-you-can-drink option (including orange wine). Finish the meal with the cold lime noodles.
Takoyako-house Biya
A mom and pop stand offering fresh takoyaki whilst you wait. The best we had the whole trip. The batter was light, the octopus was chunky and the sauce was perfectly balanced - we could eat these all day, every day.
A tasty spot with a range of options, ordered on your phone. We loved the fish tempura of the day, soy squid and crispy chicken tempura.
Akashiyaki Bubutei
Hidden in a mall’s food hall, grab a pre-dinner snack and get your takoyaki fix in a cute takeaway box.
Takoyaki wannaka namba
Another tasty street food spot. The takoyaki sauce is on the more intense side but still ridiculously good.
551 horai
A popular Chinese restaurant chain famous for its freshly made pork buns. Worth the hype!

Here are some of the top spots we’re still daydreaming about.
Arrive 30 mins before opening to get a ticket and come back at your chosen time. We tried the white and black soy with pork and wagyu. The best ramen of our trip - an unforgettable experience. Add a side of salted tofu.
The best way to start (or end) a night out. Life-changing gyoza and shumai. Open until 5am but only 8 seats around the counter so worth reserving.
A small bakery with a huge selection of baked with different flavours. We hear the bread is amazing too. Don’t miss the melonpan.
Chef Akiya Ishibashi farms the buckwheat and makes the soba in front of the 6-seater counter. An unforgettable experience. Reservation needed - don’t be late!
Craft sandwich shop and sake bar with a sister spot in NYC. The sake somm will choose a sake for you to enjoy with your sando.
Modern izakaya style dishes including the best yellowtail and chicken tempura we’ve ever tasted.
A small bakery with pastries, breads and sandwiches. Don’t miss the brioche with egg and cheese!
Addictive matcha kakigōri and soft serve in Uji. The queue goes down fast!
A small food truck selling the best birria tacos - don’t miss it if you’re nearby! Grab a hot sake from a street vendor across the bridge.
Looking for a bit of a night in after another day of 30k steps, we ordered in from this Hong Kong eatery and it was absolutely delicious.

We took you along with us on stories in real time (we were too hyped to wait) and the food was everything we dreamed of and more.
Here are a few of our favourite spots from our trip, starting with Tokyo.
A spectacular omakase skilfully made and served by friendly chefs. Available at lunch or dinner. Reservations are a must.
Famous for its tori paitan soba, a creamy chicken-based ramen. Thick, rich broth with chewy noodles. Arrive hungry!
Fuunji
A classic noodle bar serving tsukemen dipping noodles served with the thickest umami-packed sauce. Worth the wait.
Excellent tonkatsu. Choose your pork cut and get free refills of red miso soup and cabbage. Add yuzu sauce and order a portion of shumai!
The perfect spot for breakfast and lunch. We recommend the charcoal latte, acai bowl and Dutch baby, a pseudo-pancake with different toppings.
One of the best ramens of the trip, made with a light sardine broth and topped with delicately cooked meat.
Asakusa Gyukatsu
Tender and juicy beef cutlets that you can grill at the table. Served with an array of sides, which the lovely team will talk you through.
We visited the Shinjuku Kabukicho branch knackered and jetlagged. It’s popular for a reason! Order at the machine and tailor to your liking. Don’t forget to add an egg.
Honourable mention: konbinis
Convenient by name, convenient by nature. We tried a few of the ‘viral’ food stuffs and can confirm the green smoothies, all ice creams and pickled plum onigiri are hits (and a famichiki after a few sakes really hits the spot).

We usually use orzo but mixed it up with stortini from this month’s box. We used the Stornini pasta as our base, perfect for mixing up with olives, cherry toms, roasted veg, rocket and feta, finishing with a simple EVOO and lemon dressing.
We love discovering different ingredients and building easy meals that we can mix and match depending on how we’re feeling.

Now open on Sundays, the Michelin-starred restaurant from and is celebrating something close to home: regeneratively farmed, heritage beef. Each week, the menu spotlights a different breed such as Hereford, Shorthorn and Longhorn, reared slowly and grass-fed, showcasing Yorkshire’s deep agricultural roots.
Our afternoon began with a welcome drink before settling into the beautiful dining area for a menu that reimagines the ritual of Sunday lunch in true Mýse style.
Every dish was spectacular, as expected, but real highlights included the pumpkin seed ice cream with squash soup and garden nasturtiums and, of course, the Hereford beef cooked over coals with alliums and mustard cress.
We’re always a fan of a bread course and the preserved ancient grain butter is to die for, as is the dripping for dunking. Seeing the roasted femur bone sawn by hand to create the most delicious marrow dripping was pure theatre.
Dessert followed the theme beautifully, with quince cake, smoked caramel and malted barley ice cream blending nostalgic flavours to create a real Autumnal dessert. We finished the meal with the additional cheese course - the perfect ending to a special Sunday lunch.
Rooted in nostalgia yet completely modern, the new Sunday menu is a love letter to Yorkshire’s landscape and its local producers - comforting, soulful and utterly unique.
Bookings for Sundays are now open (12pm, 3pm, 6pm sittings) and if you can, we recommend staying the night for the best breakfast and soft morning light over Hovingham.

Spanning approximately 13,000 sq. ft across three floors, the Sheffield flagship is Oseyo’s 19th UK store. More than just a supermarket, Oseyo brings together food, lifestyle, culture, and fun under one roof, and is a must-visit destination for fans of Korean and Asian culture.
Anyone that knows us knows we’re pretty obsessed with Korean and Japanese culture and visiting Oseyo was like Christmas, and I went a bit overboard with the shopping, which definitely won’t be the last time that happens.

We love CPH and were so excited to revisit after our first trip in 2017. Having already seen the sights, this weekend was all about food - 48 hours of the best we could get our hands on.
🌮 - We’ve waited a long time for these tacos and boy, did they blow us away. Fresh loaded tacos with immense flavour and just the right amount of spice. Perfect.
🐑 - Tucked away on one of Copenhagen’s oldest streets, this cosy restaurant is a great spot if you’re looking for seasonal ingredients from small producers.
🥐 - A classic well-established bakery with cafes across CPH. We dropped into the Reffen branch and sat out with a cardamom croissant which was sticky, rich and fluffy.
🍔 - Another hit at Broens market, this classic cheeseburger was one of the best burgers we’ve ever eaten. Props to the team who despite the long line, were constantly slinging ‘em out.
🐟 - This bustling restaurant is effortlessly cool, serving creative seafood dishes in an industrial-style setting. We had a selection of amazing dishes but the squid with chicken dashi and kombu ice cream with caviar changed our brain chemistry.
🥐 - After a few mins in line for a certain viral bakery, we walked 15 minutes to get a cardamom bun at Galst. It was 100% the right call. Perfectly knotted and with a classic cardamom punch.
🥐 - We found MB just 20 seconds from Galst. We ordered some great coffee and a tebirkes, lush buttery flaky pastry with poppy seeds.
🍗 - We were on a mission to try the best chicken sandwich in the city and lucky lucky, you’ll find wine at next door. The best spicy chicken sandwich we’ve ever eaten.
Amigos de Sanchez - We spotted a poster for Hija de Sanchez’s 10th birthday party and we couldn’t miss it. With each course made by a friend of the restaurant, we were utterly spoilt.
Bonus drinks:
🍸 - the smoothest martini - ‘sea-kissed, bright and dirty’
🍸 - experimental - wasabi cocktail, anyone?
🍺 - over 20 taps with a huge selection of drinks
