Where it’s safe to do so, children deserve both parents.
Too often, when relationships break down, it’s the children who carry the consequences.
Of course there are exceptions: domestic violence, abuse or any situation where a child’s safety is at risk. Protecting children must always come first.
But outside of those circumstances, I believe our responsibility as parents is to put our children’s wellbeing above our own hurt.
Because the things we miss in childhood often have a way of showing up in adulthood.
