Reuben was so thrilled to experience the game. Despite being a PlayStation player (coming soon to PS5) he got stuck into the 6th edition of the game which this time is in Japan! 🇯🇵
The exhibition on the mezanine isn’t the only place to find Forza cars though, as throughout the museum we found more displayed, including the awesome Ariel Atom and the super fun Polaris RZR!
We saw incredible drift shows by, were entertained by Hospital Radio right out of the game and got to meet the developers at. It was an insane day. Super hot and sunny and the Forza vibes were vibing! 😎 🤘🏻

Along this route is the site of the famous Sycamore Gap 🌳, where a mighty sycamore tree once stood between two mounds, alongside the ancient Roman wall. Remains beside remains. 😔
The walk was tough; we climbed up steep terrain and navigated stones carefully climbing down. I’m not fit enough for this! My left hip has been a bugger since I slipped down the stairs at home and my right knee decided to join in with the pain, but I soldiered on 😅. Reuben was a champion hiker though, never once flagging or complaining. Never once asked for a dad-carry. And thankfully we had reasonably decent weather to tackle and enjoy it.

Reuben is doing a “hike & bike” 🥾 🚴 — a challenging 20.26 miles hiking along a route (I’ve heard Hadrian’s Wall) and cycling too.

It was such a wholesome day. Really warm with the sun shining. We had brunch and cups of tea and coffee, mooched in shops and tried on clothes, got yummy ice creams and just generally enjoyed each others company. I love special days like this. 🥰

And do you know what happened next? A couple on a nearby table saw what he did and gave him their pack of McDonalds game cards. He was so chuffed by that unexpected interaction, and elated to find the Phil A O Fish was inside! Am I proud of my son? You bet!

Here we went to Corbridge, what was once the most northerly Roman settlement and which played an important part in the Hadrian’s Wall route in Northumberland. Now protected by English Heritage, I hadn’t realised it was such an extensive site that once hosted not just an army barracks but a town settlement with highstreet shops.
Alongside the stone ruins there’s a really interesting museum too. It’s only a small addition but the treasures found on site, including a chest of soldier’s belongings and beautifully carved stonework were a real thrill to see.
After that visit we drove twenty minutes to find a small section of actual Hadrian’s Wall. A pretty random sight to see it just there, mostly wrecked and pillaged, but imposing all the same.
