I thought Iād put together a guide on how I installed the panelling.
The panels went perfectly with the previous tongue and groove even though they are different materials I donāt think itās obvious. The panels on the stairs are from

extra notes.:
ā¢Iād recommend checking your angles with a similar sized piece of card before you cut, I did make an error so learn from my mistake.
ā¢Invest in a digital angle finder you can get them from most DIY stores/online this will come in handy for the dado angles too
ā¢I did caulk the edge of the dado mouldings between the dado and wall
Supplies list:
1. Tongue and Groove MDF Wall Panel - 1522 x 516mm and dado moulding
2. Grab adhesive
3. Caulk
4. Level
5. Digital angle finder
6. Saw/circular saw
7. Primer
8. Chosen paint colour

Tongue and groove panelling
1. Tongue and groove panelling is from I used one pack of the 2.4m 5 pack which I cut in half and fit perfectly above the radiator then another 5 pack of the 1.8m for the longer lengths. Make sure to check all the packs as some are warped and bent which happened a few times. The panels slot into each other easily.
2. I used adhesive to attach the panels to the wall, I used a few nails to help as our walls are wonky, however due to having brick walls they dont go in very easily so didnt do many. has a great how to for using just nails
3. Use a knotting solution on the timbers knots to stop splitting and discolouration, I used colron knotting solution.
4. Prime, always prime wood before painting. I used johnstones interior wood and metal primer undercoat.
4. Added shelf, we have some left over 18mm mdf (its green as its a water resistant one but you dont need this type) which I cut to size and used brackets from
Make sure to caulk around your shelf then prime.
5. Finish off your panelling in chosen colour, this is Greige01 from
the banister is pink01 and the door frame white06
6. Accessoriseā¦.. I used beautiful hooks from and basket and plant from and of course a classic fejka. I decided to paint the radiator and pipes too.
