The city was buzzin’ for the Chicago Marathon! The sun was shining for a perfect fall weekend & we got to fuel up with sliders & nuggets in their cool airstream! Both Lincoln Park & Wicker Park studios got in on the action and marathon finishers got treated to protein-packed samples at the after party in Grant Park!

The last three weeks have been some of the strangest and toughest I’ve ever experienced. News from good to bad, hopeful to realistic, denial to acceptance & happy to sad. My sisters vulnerability and strength and my dads brother and sister being there with us was a gift I will never forget. The unwavering support from our families and friends is something I will hold close to my heart forever.
My Dad, the oldest of 9!, was my forever coach. From soccer and track as a kid, to his admirable attempt to “coach” me through dance & poms. Spoke what he saw, was honest and blunt (let’s just say I ran more laps than any other kid), but his follow through, encouragement & reminder of my capabilities is something I’ve held my whole life. My dad taught me that information is power. That being emotional and vulnerable is necessary & messy. He taught my sisters and I what GOOD MUSIC really is by way of the Beatles, Zeppelin, Costello, Clapton, Springsteen, BB King, Buddy Guy, the talking heads and more. He SHOWED up; even more so as we got older and expanded our lives. He became a great Papa Bill to my kids & showed them more love & support than I’m sure he even knew he had.
The last call he made, before he became unable, was a FaceTime to Arthur & Francis. I didn’t know that until I saw on his phone.
He left us quickly and I have not quite grasped reality surrounding all of this, but I’m relieved and glad that his lifelong medical journey is no longer causing him pain and uncertainty.
I love you Dad. I will never live a day where I don’t want to text you an update. I still expect your 17 daily FaceTimes ☺️. I will never not hear certain songs and be transported to a memory with you. Please rest in peace knowing we will be ok. Just keep checking in with us. ❤️
