Darcy came to rescue after suffering severe head trauma.
She was so neurologically affected that she couldn’t even stand on her own. Her world had become confusion, imbalance, and uncertainty.

But healing isn’t always linear… and sometimes the body just needs support, patience, and someone willing to believe in it. ❤️

Over the next couple of months, we supported Darcy with acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and holistic care focused on helping her nervous system heal and regain balance. Slowly, little by little, things started changing.

First she stood.
Then she walked.
Then she played again. 🐾

And the most beautiful part?
Darcy didn’t just regain her quality of life… she found her forever home.

Cases like hers are why I believe so deeply in integrative medicine. Sometimes healing starts with simply giving the body the chance to try. ✨. #Doberman #RescueDog #AcupunctureForDogs #HolisticVet #TCVM VeterinaryAcupuncture DogRecovery RescueStory DobermanLove HealingJourney
Hi friends 🤍
We’ve made the really hard decision to officially close Bender’s Bakery. Before we do, we have some remaining bags in inventory, and it would mean the world to us if you’d help us clear them out.

If Bender’s Bakery has ever brought joy to your pup, even a single bag right now truly helps us as we close this chapter. This is the last chance to get our treats, and we are so deeply grateful for all the love and support you’ve given us over the years. 🐾🤍 #bendersbakery
I’ve been a little quieter on here lately—and that’s been intentional 🤍

Behind the scenes, I’ve been doing what I often remind my clients to do for their pets: slow down, regulate the nervous system, and create space for healing.
Sometimes that means stepping away from the noise, the constant output, and the pressure to always be “on.”

As a veterinarian and healer, I hold space for so many—patients, clients, animals, families. And every now and then, I’m reminded that I need to hold that same space for myself, too.

Taking time off social media wasn’t about disappearing.
It was about grounding.
Re-centering.
Coming back into alignment with why I do this work in the first place.

Healing isn’t just something I practice—it’s something I live. And rest, boundaries, and nervous system regulation are just as important as any treatment plan.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, overstimulated, or emotionally stretched thin, let this be your reminder that it’s okay to pause. You don’t owe anyone constant access to you.

I’m still here—just moving with more intention, presence, and compassion 🤍
Thank you for your patience and for being part of this journey.
In the realm of Holiystic Vet, healing is a kind of magic.
Every pet is royalty, every treatment is sacred, and every moment is meant to restore balance. ✨🐾👑
Happy Thanksgiving from Holiystic Vet 🍁✨
May your day be nourished with warmth, connection, and gratitude—just like the medicine we practice. Thank you for trusting us with your pets’ holistic wellness.
Winter is our deep Yin season — a time of stillness, restoration, and protecting the Kidneys.
In TCVM, this is the season where cold can easily settle into the joints and lower back, leading to stiffness, pain, and depleted energy.

Here’s how to support your pet during Yin season:

🐾 Warm, cooked meals (avoid cold foods — they weaken Spleen + Kidney Qi)
🐾 Kidney-nourishing foods: duck, black beans, bone broth, seaweed, lamb
🐾 Gentle movement instead of high-intensity exercise
🐾 Keep the lower back warm (Kidney channel!)
🐾 Acupuncture + warming modalities like moxa or laser
🐾 Lots of rest — Yin season is meant to restore, not deplete

Winter care sets the foundation for your pet’s vitality all year long. ❄️🖤

If you want a winter wellness plan tailored to your pet’s constitution, send me a DM. 🐶🌿
To all the veterinarians, healers, nurses, techs, bodyworkers, energy practitioners, and caretakers out there… this time of year can be especially heavy.
The holidays amplify grief, amplify stress, amplify long days and emotional cases.
We hold space for so many hearts — human and animal — while navigating our own.

And in moments like these, it becomes even more true:

If the practitioner burns out, the medicine collapses.

Your presence is medicine.
Your grounded energy is medicine.
Your rest, your boundaries, your sacred time off —
all of that is part of the healing you offer.

So please remember:
You are not selfish for protecting your peace.
You are not unprofessional for guarding your weekends.
You are not less committed when you choose rest over squeezing in “just one more.”

Especially now, during a season filled with both celebration and loss…
protect your energy like it’s part of the treatment plan —
because it is.

Our patients, our clients, our families, and our own spirits
need us whole.
Need us present.
Need us balanced.

To all my fellow practitioners:
Take care of your medicine by taking care of yourself. 💛

“Why do pets eat grass? 🌱 From a TCVM perspective, this simple habit can tell us a lot about what’s going on inside their body.

In Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, grass-eating can be a sign of Stomach Heat (think nausea, acid reflux, or an unsettled tummy) or Liver Qi stagnation, where stress or frustration causes energy to get ‘stuck.’ Eating grass may help them move Qi, cool excess Heat, or even trigger a gentle purge to reset digestion.

Sometimes it’s seasonal — in spring, Liver energy is naturally more active, and your pet may instinctively seek plants to help balance it. Other times, it points to dietary imbalance, food energetics that don’t match their constitution, or even boredom and emotional stress.

By understanding why they’re doing it, we can address the root cause — so they find harmony without relying on your backyard buffet. 🐾🌿”
