My great grandma Hisako, who I and my business were named after, was an incredibly talented ikebana artist 🇯🇵🤍 Her arrangements were full of life, curiosity, and strength — all qualities she had in spades. She passed away when I was a kid, but doing ikebana makes me feel really close to her. It puts me in a really meditative, intentional, and peaceful headspace that I was craving today.

I’m nowhere near her level of expertise and honestly don’t really know what I’m doing (lol), but that’s what makes it so special. Creativity is not about perfection, especially when you’re learning something new. It’s about leaning into your childlike curiosity, experimenting, and expressing yourself in a way that’s authentic to you.

This arrangement makes me think of the playfulness of Spring 🪻🌿 It adds so much beautiful color to my dining room! Just a lil’ something different than my usual design content. xx
