The trailer has dropped ladies and gentlemen! Cookie Queens is exclusively headed to theaters August 7. Directed by the incredible and produced by. Casting by me, former brownie of the Wilderness Road troop of Kentucky đź’«
The Cookie Queens celebration train keeps on chugging! So proud of the immensely talented group of people that brought this to life and grateful to have been a part of it. In theaters this summer! 🍪 ✨
Sundance! What a dream. I don’t have words to really describe it other than gratitude. It was an honor to be there and an honor to be a part of creating. My casting work is always in the development stage of the project so it’s rare I get to meet the cast IRL (only through a Zoom screen) or any of the crew. What a special experience to be able to do both and celebrate this film, while being in Park City for its last Sundance. I’ll never forget it. 💚 🍪
2016. A lil corny insta trend, yes, but a fun opportunity to look back and remind ourselves what life was like a decade ago and how far we’ve come. Sheesh! YouTube and “influencing”, an engagement, traveling to Europe for work often, a first house, some TV appearances, wine list making….It was the year I turned 35 and it feels like it was just the beginning of what would be a whole new life. Maybe I’m a late bloomer, but maybe it’s because I’m not afraid to PIVOT. It’s fun to pack a lot of different lives and versions of ourselves into one good long run.
I’m so excited to share the launch of! This is something and I have been dreaming up and it feels a little surreal that it’s here and now and we are already getting sign-ups for our inaugural class and workshop. It will be so fun and rewarding to share our experiences and love of filmmaking and documentary with creative and imaginative young minds. In a world that feels dark and chaotic, turning to art is healing. Sharing your view of the world is healing. Connecting with an audience is healing. To be able to have any sort of part of a young artist’s path is an honor! Our flagship class is Mini Docs, where students will dive into the world of documentary filmmaking and leave having made a mini doc of their own that we will screen with family and friends. If you are in Nashville or otherwise check out our site and share with anyone you think could be interested! 🎥
One of the highlights of my year in 2025 was getting back on stage. I was a theater actor for 20 years and it was my entire identity for a long time. Even though I stepped away from acting, I always yearned to return, but fear kept me away. After moving to Nashville (and having a midlife crisis 🫠), I was finally ready to put myself out there. I worked with a voice coach and dusted off monologues and prepared for the season auditions. Luckily, I was cast in one of ’s Ingram New Works readings, where playwrights from around the country apply to spend a week workshopping their new play and have a staged reading of their work. This is the kind of theater I love - collaborative, fresh, exciting. While imposter syndrome was right by my side, I settled in and it felt like riding a bike. I’m so grateful to my director, playwright, and cast for giving me the opportunity to play and feel and connect. A friend asked me today, while we are seemingly living in hell in America, “What do we do?” I responded, “Raise our kids to be good people and keep making art.”
Closed out the year with an amazing (and much needed) trip to Mérida, our first international trip as a family. Before we left, I was like pray for me y’all. But Zay did great. In Bill Hader/Stefon voice: Mérida has it all: beautiful historic town, church bells, fading colorful facades, delicious Yucatan food, the nicest people ever, passengers sleeping in hammocks in the back of a pickup truck, nearby beaches, cenotes, and pueblos mágicos, and the most epic Christmas celebrations and decorations. I love Mexico at Christmastime. Hoping to carry some of the magic from that trip into next year. ✨
So thrilled to share that the feature doc I cast,, is premiering at! This process was many months of diving deep in the world of Girl Scouts, conducting an exhaustive search, and meeting so many incredibly impressive and delightful young ladies from around the country. Our cast is inspiring, funny, charming, and tenacious. I truly love my job. I want to send a big congrats and thank you to director and producers,, and. It was a pleasure and an honor working with you. 🍪 #sundancefilmfestival #cookiequeensfilm
My stepfather, the Honorable Judge Lewis Grant Paisley, passed away this morning after a long battle with Parkinson’s. Because of this brutal disease, it feels in many ways that I had to say goodbye to him years ago. There is a particular kind of grief, of mourning a person that was, while they are still living. I have missed his stories, the way the air could shift in a room or around a dinner table when he was on a roll. I miss watching Jeopardy with him and being in awe of his knowledge of most everything (although I must say I would sweep the entertainment and pop culture categories). I miss a long walk around the arboretum in the cold crisp air of Fall, a thing that happened far too few times. I’ve missed those things and more all this time, but the finality of death brings a kind of impossibility of hope they could happen again that is crushing. He will be sorely missed by an entire community, friends and colleagues, and acquaintances. And while missing him immensely, we breathe a collective sigh of relief that he can now rest after fighting for so long.
This is the first photo of the two of us, taken on Derby Day 10 years ago. The same day he asked me to be his girlfriend. We got married almost exactly 2 years later on May 5, 2017. We have lived many lifetimes this last decade - we bought our first home, welcomed our first child Mr. Capo Sagrantino Lockridge, traveled abroad, filmed projects together, encouraged each others dreams, became parents and raised our sweet boy Isaiah. We’ve also gone through immense pain and loss together, a pandemic, chronic illness, and a separation. We uprooted our lives and moved across the country and started again and I’m so grateful we found our way back to each other. Marriage ain’t easy, navigating our own evolutions and becoming parents is immensely challenging, but our family is beautiful and we are strong. We are forging a new path and I’m hopeful and excited to see where it takes us for the next ten years. Love you.
