Oh hey, there’s a new kid in our inventory - antique silver candelabras 🕯️

Available to hire with taper or dinner candles sourced by our team.

These candelabras are the perfect fit for couples who love old world romantic florals and styling.

Suitable for indoor venues that doesn’t require closed flames.

After something less decadent? We still have our glass sleeves with glass cubed holders, as well as glass tea light cups and grounded pillar candles.
How did we do? The garden room is a dreamy indoor reception option, it would have been rude to ignore the naturally trailing ivy and weeping wisteria.

This is how I made the wired hyacinth x peony bouquet 👇🏼

I bought the hyacinth at the perfect blooming stage for wiring (mostly open). Keep reading for juicy info 🪡

It worked out to be less than a stem worth of petals per garland - so definitely less stems needed than I anticipated. Comment below if you want all the info about stem count.

What I would do differently next time…

📌 I’d buy one bunch with mostly closed florets for the bouquet itself when using the natural stems as part of the design.

The stems of the few day-old hyacinths were way too snappy (yes, even with the wire or skewer inserted through the stems).

Some tips for florists (because I know you’ll ask):

• The heavier gauge wire is great for the stems you want incorporated in the bouquet. Thin wire won’t hold the weight.

• I used closed florets closest to the hook of the wire to hide it. I feel like there’s an opportunity to use a bead here.

• Less is more, this started out as such a heavy bouquet and as soon as I removed some garlands the bouquet transformed.

This was a fun design to play with. I don’t know if I’d want to do it too often, (does anyone else not breathe while making bouquets?)

Hyacinth x Peony wired bouq. Did you catch the cute boutonnière at the end?

The hyacinth alone is a little harsh so I softened the design with some fluffy, ruffled peonies that tugged on my girly heartstrings. 🩰🦢🤍

In part 2 I’ll show you a little more about how I do the wiring🪡 and my thoughts around this style of bouquet.

Is this something you’d like for your wedding day? Or are you more of a traditional kind of bride?

I’d like to apologise to my former self for not doing more of this.

Intentional practice, just for me with a colour palette I adore!

I genuinely feel lighter after a day of flower play in the studio. Happy Friday everyone!

The Stables couples - you need to know this about the ceremony and dance floor rings for Bendooley Estate weddings:

✨ The Bendooley Estate ceremony ring florals cannot be relocated to the dance floor ring…

Cocktail hour is usually held in this space and for safety and logistical reasons we cannot pull up a ladder and deconstruct heavy designs.

✨ The reception dance floor ring is larger and requires more florals to achieve the same level of impact. This needs to be quoted for as a separate installation design.

✨ We don’t think you need to go too crazy with the ceremony ring - sometimes less is more. This amount of coverage was perfect!

Can you guess what day these Oriental lilies were at in their life cycle to be at the perfect blooming stage?

Here’s everything we did to make sure they were perfect for the wedding day (this is why you enlist an expert!):

• Purchased from the market 7 days before the wedding (grown in Australia)

• Day 1 we trimmed the stems and put them in water, didn’t strip the leaves and left them in the plastic. No fridge, just aircon on in the studio.

• Day 3 in the morning I took them out of plastic, stripped the leaves, trimmed again and put in fresh water. 4 bunches per bucket. I was surprised at how quickly they were opening so I started taking the stamens out at this point.

• Every day until the wedding day, I checked on them and regularly removed the pollen before it stained the petals. Kept the studio dark and aircon on.

• Day 7 - wedding day! It was a 30+ degree day in Australia but they held up. Wind was not our friend but the lilies did much better than roses would have, and almost every bud was open.

PS: we love and her attention to detail. We have so much more to share from this wedding so keep your eyes peeled and save this so you see future reels.

If we were using these in winter we’d want to buy them even earlier and would keep them at room temperature.

Give this some love if you like the end result, or appreciate the time that goes into flower care ☺️
