It isn’t all cars and bikes you know, there’s a beautiful old house you can visit too full of history and gorgeous rooms decorated like a fairytale! X
I’m in a book club with a mix of old university friends & new friends and it’s so much fun. We argue over how to make sourdough, share photos of our pets and love getting together to discuss the books at the end of the month.
We’re currently reading a really unusual book, which was on our bookshelf - it’s called Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? which was the inspiration for Blade runner that I first watched at university! I imagine it’ll come as a surprise to lots of you that I actually read post-apocalyptic novels on androids taking over the world, instead of cookery books or gardening books - which I enjoy too.
I had a flare up yesterday, from EDS which have.. this came as a total shock to me and has knocked me a bit mentally so Jon took us to the craft shop and I got some paint to make some little autumn mushrooms out of clay which is a hobby of mine, and some other things to do with my daughter. I then came home and fell asleep and woke to read some of my book club book and had loads of cuddles with my gorgeous little family 🥰🥹.
It’s so easy to look at these cute videos and things I share which - yes are real but also have been made at fun or happy moments. When I’m feeling unwell or down I just don’t want to ‘create’ anything, the idea of filming or picking up a camera in those times isn’t really a drive for me and I prefer to ‘be’ or take myself to the garden, 🪴!
Anyway I hope you can give me some book ideas below for my book club, I’m hoping to put something cute and cosy forwards for Christmas! X
Dress from my lovely friend
There are currently 3 houses for sale in the village, they range from 1.3 million to around £600k looking out across this bridge and are gorgeous 🥹😍!! I adore this village and we genuinely looked at a cottage here about 4/5 years ago but the thing you don’t see here is how busy and popular it gets which wouldn’t have suited us, but it’s still super gorgeous and lovely 🥰. X
ad this gorgeous cottage is right in the middle of the estate. We woke up to the sound of sea lions singing in the river and strolled down to feed the giraffes in the morning. It’s a beautiful place and one of the most memorable cottages we’ve stayed in.
I have 10% for you if you book any stay until the 31st of August: HERCL10 🤍🌿
A few days ago, on our way back from a friend’s wedding, we did something very us 😂 and spontaneously visited a National Trust property, The Vyne, near Basingstoke.
Now, Basingstoke might not be the first place that springs to mind when you think of rich history and grandeur, but it does have some incredible places like this house that’s hosted 3 queens, a king and the Queen of writing Jane Austen! Nestled in the Hampshire countryside, The Vyne is a stunning Tudor-era country house with centuries of stories hidden in its walls.
Originally built in the early 16th century for Lord Sandys, Henry VIII’s Lord Chamberlain, Vyne House has seen its fair share of royal and literary visitors. King Henry VIII himself stayed here, along with Queen Elizabeth I during her royal progress. Even Jane Austen, who lived nearby in Steventon, was a guest, likely drawing inspiration from the genteel elegance of the estate and its society.
The house is a beautiful blend of Tudor architecture with later classical additions. Inside, you’ll find an ornate chapel with spectacular stained glass, antique furnishings, and even a cabinet of curiosities collected during the age of empire. Outside, peaceful gardens were where I found myself happiest, with geese, pretty kitchen gardens and the most amazing summer house! X
A beautiful and magical cabin on the lake surrounded by native English birds, beautiful sunsets and crisp frosty mornings in early spring. This was one of my favourite trips away we’ve ever had as it was so calming and peaceful… I highly recommend this gorgeous place for a trip/ escape and the best part is it’s situated a short drive from Cirencester in the Cotswolds💙.

A wonderful week away with my little family by the Cotswold lakes and nature reserve. It’s such a beautiful place and feels like a fairytale being by the water, surrounded by rare birds and finding gorgeous rainbows on our boat trip back to the cabin.
One of the most relaxing and prettiest stays…
Thank you for inviting us to stay 🌿🦆🛶

A beautiful holiday cottage in the Cornish countryside, a few minutes from the sea 🌊. X
ad| Welcome to Manoir Campagnard a gorgeous historic 18th century chateau with a rustic contemporary feel in Lot-et-Garonne a gorgeous medieval region in South West France available to book via.
This beautiful place was home to us for the week as we relaxed in the French countryside spending our days exploring local markets, medieval towns and villages and finding castles magnificent enough to be in Harry Potter. We spent the cold winter evenings by the fire eating local vegetarian foods, drinking tea and enjoying time together as a family.
originally founded by two friends in 2003 has blossomed into what you see today, a place that offers easy to find, unique, gorgeous chateaus and villas in some of the prettiest places across the world. X
Hardly anyone visits the South of France in the winter, but it’s one of the most gorgeous places to be as it’s quiet, frosty in the mornings and offers the most spectacular sights such as castles, medieval villages and incredible cafes filled with hot chocolate and crêpes.
This gorgeous country manor is called Manoir Campagnard, it’s an incredible French country manor house in the heart of the countryside and I spent Christmas and New Years here with my parents, brother, sister in law and our little ones.
I hadn’t visited this region of France before, even though we have family friends living in the area, and it was honestly breathtaking! We saw some incredible wildlife such as coypu, herons, egrets, sparrow hawks, buzzards and even visited an animal rescue centre where we met tigers and camels 🥰. X
