we returned to Palawan,
to Corong Corong.
We stayed in a glamping, my first one ever.
A glass structure shaped like a beehive,
surrounded by the forest.
With a view over the entire bay.
That evening, the sunset was fire red.
The sky kept changing colors.
Before sleep, there was a blackout.
From our bed, we watched a sky full of stars.
Pure magic.
In the morning, Palawan hornbills came to visit us.
A gentle goodbye.
It felt like the perfect ending to this journey.

It was my birthday.
We left early on a private island hopping tour, heading to Big Lagoon.
A place I had dreamed of for years.
The water color was impossible to describe.
We paddled across the lagoon with our kayak and also entered a hidden cave.
Our guide offered to take photos of us,
and I took out my birthday balloons.
People started singing Happy Birthday in different languages.
The lagoon echoed.
It was magic.
Pure sharing, connection, happiness.
Later, I went snorkeling and the sea gifted me the sight of a turtle.
Afterwards, we went to Snake Island, where at low tide a snake‑shaped sandbar emerges, connecting two islands.
Here, we could truly relax in crystal‑clear waters.
Then came Entalula Island, considered the second most beautiful beach in the world.
The last stop was the Secret Lagoon, hidden in the rock like a natural cenote
Every place had a different shade of turquoise.
That day was everything.
A dream come true.

A gift I chose for myself, to celebrate my birthday.
The island was tiny and reachable only by speed boat.
At arrival, we were welcomed with shell necklaces and soft music.
Mountains surrounded the island.
Wild, green, silent.
Little monkeys lived there and sometimes came to visit us.
The water was paradise.
A turquoise so clear it felt unreal.
A coral reef to explore, life under the surface.
We rented a kayak and explored nearby coves.
Hidden places, breathtaking, empty.
Just us and nature.
On my birthday night, the staff surprised me with cake, tambourines and maracas,
singing Happy Birthday.
A simple, joyful moment I’ll keep in my heart.
It was a place of silence, nature and intimacy.

We got on traditional wooden boats and left the shore behind us.
To enter the lagoons, we had to use a kayak.
Paddling slowly, discovering beauty step by step.
Cadlao Lagoon welcomed us first.
Calm water, reflections, a peaceful feeling on the skin.
Then we moved on.
Helicopter Island, Cadlao Island/Survivor Island, Seven Commandos Beach.
One stop after another.
The water had shades of turquoise I had never seen before.
Clear, bright.
Massive cliffs rose straight from the sea, dramatic and unique.
Blue starfish rested on the sand below.
Moments meant only to be lived.

We moved to Vanilla Beach and stayed there for five days.
And everything changed.
Days became slower.
Walks on the beach, bare feet in the sand, the sea always in front of us.
Time felt lighter.
I was surprised by the places around me.
Great bars, beautiful restaurants, and amazing food.
Much better than I expected.
Every evening ended with a sunset that took my breath away.
The sky changed colors, and everyone stopped to watch.
No rush, no noise.
Dogs and cats were everywhere, part of everyday life.
Vanilla Beach felt like the beating heart of beach life.
Simple, warm, alive.
I met beautiful people, people with heart.
And here between sea air and slow days,
I learned how to slow down too.

Electric cables hanging in the streets, small local shops everywhere, dogs and cats resting in the shade. Tuk tuks and motorbikes passed by, open-air markets full of life. Palms, huge mountains all around, and the sea just behind the town.
It felt chaotic, loud, and very real. Buses left only when they were full. Everything moved in its own time.
People smiled, helped, waited, talked. Kind, simple, open. I walked, I observed, I got a little lost, like in a challenge.
I tried to understand the rhythm of this place. The first days were like this: intense, confusing, exciting.

But today I want to say how grateful I am for life and how lucky I am for all of this.

for having managed to realize one of my biggest dreams.
