Holiday meals are just… a lot. Bigger portions, sugar, alcohol (and not enough water), mixed foods — this causes digestion to slow right down. Food sits longer, gas builds up, and the next morning you feel heavy and uncomfortable.
These 3 things actually help (and what I tell my patients):
– Support digestion before you eat with enzymes or bitters
– Build one balanced plate instead of stacking carbs on carbs. Portion the plate out with 1/2 filled with veggies (salads, roasted veg, etc), 1/4 including protein and then using the last 1/4 for your carbs
– Move your body for 10 mins IMMEDIATELY after you eat
