True humility isn’t weakness; it’s strength under God’s control. Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is bend low... so someone else can rise.
Jesus gave us the perfect example when He knelt to wash His disciples’ feet.
Sadly, today pride & ego convinces us it’s all about having our own feet washed. Me, myself and I.
But if you truly want God to take you higher, understand this: the way up is often down.
Think of an arrow…it only gains momentum after being pulled back. The same is true for us. God doesn’t pull us back to keep us down, but to prepare us for the propelling! Make way for GREATNESS!!! It’s your turn now IJN.

When I was around 17, I went to Sierra Leone with my younger brother who was just 9 at the time. One day, we were playing in the sea, laughing and splashing like kids do, except we didn’t know how to swim. We were holding onto a float, but the tide kept dragging us deeper and deeper into the ocean. Before I knew it, we were far from shore, and the waves were too strong.
That day, I saw my life flash before my eyes. The weight of death was all around me… cold, silent, and closing in. My brother was struggling too. He needed me, and I couldn’t help him. I was completely helpless and hopeless. The worst part wasn’t the water or the fear, it was the feeling that I might lose my brother right in front of me. He was slipping away and couldn’t hold on anymore!
But just then, right when all hope seemed lost… someone grabbed us. A hand reached out and began pulling us back to safety. A young man had risked himself to save us. We were rescued just at the nick of time.
To this day, I’m forever grateful to that man. He saved our lives. But what he saved us from was only physical death.
There’s someone else who saved me from something far more eternal. His name is Jesus. He laid down His own life not just to rescue me from drowning in the sea, but from drowning in sin. He died to save my soul, to give me life, to give me hope, and to bring me back to shore when I was lost in the depths.
That’s the ultimate love. A love that lays down its life for others. A love that reaches out. A love that saves. And the beautiful truth is this. He can save you too.
If you’re in a place where you have lost hope. Struggling to see a way out. Drowning in your own thoughts. Drowning deeper into sin! There is a way out!
All you have to do is call on Him & believe that Jesus died for your sins so you don’t have to pay that price yourself. Accept Him as your Lord and Saviour and receive the gift of eternal life.
The hand that reached out for me in the sea reminds me of the hand Jesus offers to each of us. All we have to do is believe. That simple.

3. Confidence – Knowing who you are and whose you are. Walk bold, not timid. Get God-fidence!
2. Character – Integrity over image. Who you are when no one’s watching is really what matters most.
1. Christ – My source, the cornerstone, the centre, the rock and my firm foundation. Everything starts and flows from Him.
Build on that foundation, and you’re unshakable.
But just five days later, that same crowd cried out, “Crucify Him!” and chose to free Barabbas- a criminal, while condemning Jesus to death in His place.
The crowd changed. FAST!
That’s the message:
The same people who praise you when you’re winning can turn on you real quick when you no longer serve their expectations.
In life?
Don’t live for peoples applause.
Don’t anchor your worth to popularity.
Stay rooted in purpose, not their approval.
Because if they could turn on Jesus, the only perfect one… we shouldn’t be surprised when people switch up on us too.
God sees. God stays. God loves. Let that always be enough.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to walk the road we could never walk. Help us to remain faithful, not just in celebration, but in surrender.
Root our hearts in Your approval, not the world’s applause.
And when we feel rejected, misunderstood, or alone, remind us that You stayed, You love and You care. You still do and always will. Hosanna in the highest!

That’s exactly how God designed us - whole, confident, and unburdened by the need for approval. “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart” (Jeremiah 1:5).
But as we grow, life interferes. We start absorbing the judgments of others, internalising their expectations, and slowly, that natural freedom fades. The opinions of people (you know, the ones just as flawed as us) begin shaping how we see ourselves. We learn shame, we fear rejection, and we shrink ourselves to fit in, to be accepted, to keep others happy.
I know this weight all too well. I used to crave approval, and when I didn’t get it, it ate away at my confidence. My need to be accepted was rooted in the rejections I faced in childhood. I wanted people to see the real me, but at the same time, I was afraid to show them. Even something as simple as posting on Instagram felt too heavy-What would they think? Would they approve? It was exhausting.
But then, Jesus reminded me of the truth: “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36). And I have good news - that original freedom God gave us? It was never lost, just buried. For some, buried deep.
The journey back to that freedom starts when we stop letting external voices and even our own negative thoughts, define us. When we remember who we were before the world told us who we should be. “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2).
This is where real change begins. Be deliberate. Think differently. Act differently. Trust me, there is so much freedom in it. And when Christ sets you free, you are FREE indeed.
