📍 Astronomical Clock (Orloj), Prague
They say you can’t stop time… but Prague comes close.
This beauty has been ticking since 1410 — the oldest working astronomical clock in the world, and still putting on a show every hour. I came early before the crowds and just stood there, imagining all the stories these cobblestones have seen.
Tip: If you want the place (almost) to yourself, bundle up and come in the early morning — the square is quiet, the light is soft, and you’ll get to hear the city wake up.
Have you seen this historic beauty in person? Is it on your bucket list?
Norway’s wild beauty has a way of making you pause, breathe, and let go. There’s something about standing in front of a glacier that reminds you how small we are—and yet, how capable. Change is inevitable, but so is growth. Here’s to the open road, unexpected turns, and the places that shape us along the way.
✨ This stunning medieval bridge, built in the 14th century, connects the Old Town and Lesser Town, offering breathtaking views of the Vltava River. The towering Gothic gate in the background is the Old Town Bridge Tower, one of the most beautiful Gothic gateways in Europe. Walking through this historic landmark feels like stepping back in time—cobblestone paths, baroque statues, and a city that never loses its charm. Have you been to Prague? Let me know your favorite spot! 🖤🇨🇿
Some places don’t just take your breath away—they give it back. Near Geirangerfjord, one of Norway’s most stunning fjords, this glass-like lake is a hidden gem where towering peaks, drifting clouds, and emerald waters create a surreal reflection. Arrive early or just before sunset for the calmest waters, and if you're lucky, you might catch the mist rolling off the mountains—a scene straight out of a Nordic fairytale.
Travel tips:
✔️ Best time to visit: Late spring to early autumn offers the best conditions, with long daylight hours and milder temperatures.
✔️ Getting here: A scenic drive along Eagle Road (Ørnesvingen) offers breathtaking views before descending into Geiranger.
✔️ What to pack: Waterproof layers, good hiking boots, and a camera—this landscape is too stunning not to capture.
✔️ Don’t miss: A fjord cruise or kayaking tour to get an up-close view of the famous waterfalls like The Seven Sisters and The Suitor.
Must-Try Local Food:
🍽️ Fresh Fjord Trout – Lightly smoked or grilled, it’s a local delicacy.
🧀 Brunost (Brown Cheese) – A uniquely Norwegian caramelized cheese that pairs perfectly with fresh bread.
🥧 Multekrem – A traditional dessert made with cloudberries and whipped cream, a true taste of the Nordic wilderness.
☕ Norwegian Coffee & Waffles – Find a cozy café and enjoy classic heart-shaped waffles with sour cream and jam.
Where’s the most breathtaking place you’ve ever lost yourself?
There’s something powerful about walking into a new city alone, knowing that every decision—from where to explore to what dreams to chase—is entirely your own. Solo travel isn’t just about seeing the world; it’s about stepping into every space like you belong there. Unapologetic. Confident. In control.
Because the real journey isn’t just about the places you go—it’s about realizing you don’t need permission to take up space and own your story.
Iceland is home to some of the most breathtaking waterfalls, each with its own unique charm. From powerful cascades to picture-perfect streams, here are a few must-sees:
💦 Seljalandsfoss – Walk behind the falls for a magical (and misty) experience.
🌈 Skógafoss – A towering 60m waterfall, often with a rainbow in the mist.
⚡ Gullfoss – A roaring force in the Golden Circle, stunning in any season.
📸 Kirkjufellsfoss – Perfectly framed by the iconic Kirkjufell mountain.
🌊 Dettifoss – Europe’s most powerful waterfall, truly humbling to witness.
🌿 Hraunfossar & Barnafoss – A lava field waterfall duo, one serene, one fierce.

A city of legends, Gothic beauty, and rich culture—Prague is a must-visit for any history or architecture lover! Have you been to this enchanting city?
With its black volcanic sand and towering basalt columns, Reynisfjara Beach is one of Iceland’s most striking landscapes. But beneath its beauty lies very real danger, making it one of the country’s most hazardous places to visit.
The Reality of Sneaker Waves
One of the biggest risks here is the powerful sneaker waves. Unlike the steady rhythm of waves on most beaches, Reynisfjara’s waves are unpredictable. They can surge suddenly and sweep far up the shore, catching people off guard. Every year, visitors underestimate their reach, and some have been pulled into the freezing Atlantic with little chance of escape.
Even on seemingly calm days, the ocean here is deceptive. The currents are extremely strong, and the water is cold enough to cause hypothermia within minutes.
Falling Rocks and Unstable Cliffs
Another lesser-known but real danger is rockfalls. The basalt cliffs that make Reynisfjara so photogenic are also prone to erosion. Rocks can break off unexpectedly, especially near the famous cave, posing a serious risk to anyone standing too close.
How to Visit Safely
Reynisfjara is worth seeing, but it requires caution:
- Stay far back from the water– If the sand is wet, you’re already too close.
- Never turn your back on the waves – Even while taking photos.
- Avoid standing under cliffs – Rockfalls happen without warning.
- Pay attention to warning signs, they are all over the beach – They’re there for a reason.
- Consider going with a guide – Local experts understand the risks best. This is what we did and we listened to what he said, no questions.
A Place to Experience, Not Just Photograph
Reynisfjara is an unforgettable sight, but it’s not just a backdrop for photos—it’s a place that demands respect. By staying alert and following safety guidelines, you can enjoy its beauty without unnecessary risk.
When you think of Iceland, you might picture dramatic landscapes and ethereal northern lights. Yet beyond these stunning visuals lies an even more captivating allure—the land’s rich tapestry of folklore and legend. Whether you're a curious traveler or a storyteller at heart, Iceland invites you to wander through a realm where ancient tales mingle with modern adventures.
Imagine exploring a quiet coastal village or a windswept highland, and hearing local whispers of hidden elves, mystical creatures, and enchanted realms tucked away behind every hill. These stories, passed down through generations, aren't just myths—they're a living part of the Icelandic culture that infuses every corner of the island with magic and mystery.
For many visitors, discovering this folklore adds an extra layer of wonder to their journey. It transforms a simple hike into a treasure hunt for secret legends and a quiet moment by a bubbling hot spring into an encounter with the island’s unseen guardians. Whether you find yourself at a cozy countryside inn or under the midnight sun on a rugged trail, the spirit of these ancient stories reminds you that every journey in Iceland is an invitation to explore not just the land, but the heart of its heritage.
So, if you're planning your next adventure, consider delving into the enchanting world of Icelandic folklore. Let the island’s age-old legends guide your path and inspire a travel experience that’s as magical as the land itself.
Follow my journey as I share more hidden chapters of Iceland—a place where every step tells a story and every legend beckons you to believe in a little bit of magic, as well as all my other travels all over the world.
There are places that make you feel small in the best way possible. Reynisfjara Beach is one of them. Towering basalt columns rise like something sculpted by ancient gods, the Atlantic crashing against the black sand, the wind howling like it has secrets to tell. Iceland doesn’t just impress—it humbles you.
Visiting in the summer meant endless daylight, golden-hour landscapes, and a road trip that felt like stepping into a myth. One moment, we were standing beneath thundering waterfalls; the next, soaking in a hidden hot spring. Additionally, seeing puffins in the wild had been on my bucket list for years, and there they were—perched on the cliffs near Vík, their bright beaks vivid against the dark rock, darting clumsily through the air before diving into the sea with surprising grace. Iceland’s landscapes are breathtaking, but these tiny birds stole the show.
Strangely enough, puffin is considered a delicacy in Reykjavík’s high-end restaurants. Tempting as it is to say we embraced the full Icelandic experience, we definitely passed on that one. Some things are better admired in their element.
Would I return? In a heartbeat. But next time, I want to see Iceland in winter—chasing the Northern Lights, watching the landscape transform under snow, and experiencing this wild, beautiful place in a whole new way.
Who’s been to Iceland? What left you speechless?
