There was a giant bird of prey flying directly at the camera, and did not flinch.
This week’s Farmers Image Of The Week is a masterclass in composure - and composition.
A flat January sky. Wet ground. A giant bird moving unpredictably towards her. One chance to get it.
And yet everything in this frame feels considered.
The couple anchor the image with their raised arms connecting them to the bird in flight. The bronze stag sits perfectly between them, adding another layer of visual storytelling without pulling focus. Even the gap in the treeline matters - giving the bird space to breathe instead of letting the image feel cluttered.
What I love most is that none of this happened in ideal conditions. Carole-Ann didn’t wait for better light or a second attempt. She saw the frame, solved the problems in front of her, and made something remarkable from it.
