Well that was fun 😊 After working on some health issues I was finally able to get back out for a long run. I did about 54km with no injuries, sickness (i.e. my stomach behaved 😆), and ended feeling pretty good! It is the furthest I have been able to run in about a year and a half. Pretty happy about that.
The FatDog Backyard ultra is always such a fun time. It was nice to see so many familiar faces (runners, crew, volunteers, and friends) and see so many people pushes themselves to reach new goals. Congrats to all the runners out there 💜.
And of course merci beaucoup to for crewing and making me the best grilled cheese and soup to keep me fuelled.

Lovely day for a little bike ride.
We rode around a “new” (to us) part of Chilliwack. Not sure why it took so long to get over there. But I’ll definitely head back.
Our ride took us along the dyke and then to a popular fishing spot. We stopped there for a little break and saw lots of people fishing (and seeing success 🎣 ).
This year the sockeye run is a big one. They are saying about 3 million salmon are expected to be in the Fraser River right now. The last time it was this high was about 30 years ago.
