First day at Seoul Arts Center

I still remember vividly my very first concert at Seoul Arts Center’s Concert Hall in 1992, at the age of nine.
Many years and many concerts later, I now return not to a single stage, but to the responsibility of leading Korea’s foremost arts institution, home to seven performing arts venues and three museums.
It is a responsibility I do not take lightly.
As I reflect deeply on the meaning of this role, I hope to bring the experience gained over the past 32 years across the international performing arts world into deeper and broader service to arts and culture in Korea.
It is my hope that Seoul Arts Center will become the heart of the culture of our time, where the arts deepen and enrich the human experience.
My term will begin with the official appointment ceremony later this month.
