We reuse the same extensions on new net so I don't have to worry about if I have the correct locs on hand to match the client.
I tried out an alternative last night. We teach how to attach solarlocs to lace fronts and wigs that already have hair but I wondered if there was a way to make it where you ventilate the base lace with a loc extension.
This is what I came up with on the spot. I'm sure there is a better way to do this and I'll experiment some more.
The idea here is that you would make tiny holes in the lace to pull the clients locs thru so they aren't buried under the lace. The edges can be sewn down. I use to use clear thread when I did weaves back in the day but you have to be super careful with the removal. Nylon thread should work fine just make sure it's not too taunt on the anchor locs.
Wig clips can be sewn in them also but I'm not a fan of using clips in the crown.
Let me know if you think this is something should start offering or teaching?
In truth, I was conducting experiments at night. I would have my baby sleeping on a couch in my lab as I was working with these specimens. I bought her little gloves and had her pipetting next to me in the sterile hood in an effort to get work done AT NIGHT.
I was still accused of "not doing anything." I found myself begging to be allowed to show my work. But no one would listen. So I used my network and cold-called the Dean of Chemistry at Vanderbilt, and I told him about my idea. He was thrilled and invited me over. I just needed a mentor who believed in me, that wouldnt tell me "you think you know everything."
I kept working, in silence.
I kept running on 3 hours of sleep.
I kept building my business, in the background. I took a break from Organics....I reduced my clientele for Hair By Jamille to focus on this research that i was being accused of not doing.
On Friday, March 13th, I thought I was walking into a meeting to finally show my work. Instead, I was blindsided with news that i was being put on academic admin leave, and I have not set foot on campus since then. In that meeting, I actually printed out details of my data. Everyone got a copy AFTER I was given the decision. Then there was a change of heart. A review was now needed.
Because remember, I was accused of not doing anything. This was March... and today, I get this email that the collaborative effort that I set up paid off.
My latest 1st author, peer-reviewed publication in the Journal of American Society of Mass Spectrometry.
Ask and you shall receive part 2.
Hope this helps.

This is my one free nugget of the year 😂
Disclaimer: Solarlocs is a company specializing in hand making microlinterlock extensions and is comprised of a collective of microinterlock extensionists. We have a network of installers than can be found on our website.

The video isn't flipped she's a lefty. Actually, a few of the Solarlocticians are Lefties... Fun fact (and a hill I will always die on), even though a few of us may be left handed, we still palm roll traditional locs the correct way) *looks at 👀 and
Playing in folks face all day long. Same for you
How hard is it to take a picture of your ACTUAL WORK?!?
Sure, use ai to clean up the lighting and background. But I find it highly unethical to sell a class training or installation service using fake photos of your work. There are many other great functions for AI but I'll never get on board with posting fake work as my own. If your work is cold enough to even entertain selling it as a class, why are you afraid to show it?
Y'all out here Loc-fishing and I don't like it and I'm gonna say something every time.

This right here? It’s growth, respect, and maturity.
Tell me honestly… is this weird, or is this what growth really looks like? 👀
But in the words of Kanye… if y’all ever see me post my baby daddy like this, just know that ain’t me. It’s a clone. 😂
I've built this brand brick by brick with the help of amazing locticians with foresight and knowledge. I use a plethora of tools to do extensions but when it comes to reties, the absolute standard is the tool. Period
And that's why I have 3 of them. 😊 Because when I thought I lost my first, I panicked and had to get another. (I found it.. well rather my Uber driver returned it!! 🤞🏾)
If you're on the fence, just jump. Jump and get one. The 2.0 tool snaps too. I flip flop between all 3 depending on my mood.
Install time: 51 hrs
Hair: 8-10" 2mm (and a few 1mm for edges)
Thanks for coming all the way from Turkey and trusting me with you new locs! I had a great time.
